It’s not like he missed the stupid Senju all that much.
The mission itself wasn’t even that big of a deal; just a diplomatic meeting with a few clans who wished to be joined with their new village that was being built; all because his older brother and the leader of the Senju had made an alliance in exchange for helping Izuna survive his injuries.
He can still feel the scar; the one that goes from his upper right side down over his stomach that the young brother of Hashirama Senju had given him in their last altercation. He can sometimes feel phantom pains from when the blade pierced him clean through.
It wouldn’t have surprised anyone if he hated Tobirama with his entire being, hell people expected it at this point; so many know the story now that bets were placed of how long it would be before Izuna and Tobirama would fight again.
Izuna may not be pleased about this whole alliance, he hasn’t since the beginning but he was not about to desert his elder brother or his dream. He was the only family he had and as long as Madara continued to believe in this village then who was he to be the one to destroy it?
That didn’t mean he didn’t plan to give Tobirama a piece of his mind as he awaited his return. He was sent here to debrief him by the Hokage after all.
“I could be training the new genin or going hunting in the forest, but oooh nooo, I have to make sure the damned scourge of the uchiha makes it home and reports in…” he grumbled; wearing his usual dark violet yukata and hair tied back even though some of it was shorter and spiked up in the back, “Anija really needs to realize how much he needs to appreciate what I would do for him…”
A few passerby giggle when they overhear him huffing while he makes his way to the gates, finally stopping with his arms crossed. From what he was told by Hikaku, Tobirama should be arriving with the written agreement from this new clan that he would hand over to Izuna.
The sun was high now, indicating the afternoon as he put one of his gloved hands over his eyes, narrowing them.
“Ugh, where are you, you albino, red eyed menace? I swear if you already arrived and kept me waiting here for nothing, I will steal your precious fur mantle,” He gritted out, “Who even wears fur in the middle of the summer? Does he run as cold as his heart is? Ugh…”
He wondered if Tobirama was even human. There were old stories from the warring states era that claimed the albino Senju was a descendant of Yuki-onna, winter spirits that dwell in the mountain peaks. It would explain a lot…why he was so stoic and cool under pressure, how he managed to be deadly and beautiful at the same time–
Wait…beautiful?
He shook his head a bit; as if somehow that may jog his brain back to reality. When was Tobirama beautiful to him? He’s the one who gave him that injury that almost killed him after all!
Izuna grumbled as he lightly smacked his own face to try and stop such thoughts. It must be the stress of helping keep everything in this place running. That’s it! That has to be it! Why else would he think something so preposterous?!
It was no secret Tobirama was strong, second only to his brother when it comes to physical prowess. The only one Izuna would ever call his equal on the battlefield no matter what anyone had to say about it.
“...Come to greet me at the gates, have you?”
He squeaked in surprise as he was drawn out of his thoughts by the sudden sound of that familiar voice. The one that made his face hot and his shoulders tense as he turned around to face the other.
There was Tobirama; with his fluffy white hair and fur mantle around his shoulders, wearing that black body suit under his yukata. The head guard and those red eyes as he holds the scroll that had the seals of the two clans on it, signifying that they had come to an agreement.
Ugh…don’t look at me like that with your handsome scarred face….
“I am just here to make sure you don’t fuck up, Senju,” He deadpanned as he reached his hand out for the scroll, “Since our older brothers are busy actually establishing the village, or well at least mine is,” he huffed.
He watched as one of those red eyes twitched before taking a slow breath, “Too busy to come perform this quick errand that lasts a few minutes, so he sent you for this menial task?”
The vein became noticeable on Izuna’s forehead before he cleared his throat. He didn’t need to prove anything to him, he had a job to do and because it was given to him by his brother he would do it to perfection!
“Just give me the fucking scroll, you asshole,” he made a grabbing motion with his fingers so the other would give it to him already. There was no point prolonging this interaction anymore than they had to dammit.
Tobirama raised a brow, before he moved to step forwards. He too wanted to get this over with since he spent so many hours trying to keep his temper in check so as not to have another war start between the village and this clan that wanted to join them.
However as he moved forwards, he was not paying attention to the small rock jutting out in front of him. Not until the tip of his shoe caught on the tip and he suddenly was stumbling forwards. Without thinking, hands catch the other though due to his slimmer frame, Izuna stumbled back a bit—
“Mmm?!”
“Hmm!!!!”
Both men are frozen in place as their lips meet unexpectedly; Izuna’s hands on Tobirama’s sides that he had caught to hold him up and Tobirama trying to regain his footing as the two of them stare down at each other in disbelief.
Izuna doesn’t think he’s ever seen Tobirama’s face become such a dark shade of pink as both men are too shocked to break their accidental kiss. The Uchiha could hear his own heart pounding in his ears as his cheeks matched the Senju’s.
After a solid minute that honestly felt like longer, Izuna breaks the kiss while holding the scroll in his hands.
….Know what I could do worse.
