Work Text:
“How did you end up with so much stuff?” Celina asks as tapes up another box. Lucy looks around the room and she sees all the boxes in the space.
(Tim did get her more boxes—even if he was confused as to why). He really was in for a wake up call when they loaded and unloaded all her boxes.
“I have no idea.” Lucy says and she stands up straight. Almost everything is packed and ready to go to her car and Tim’s truck once he got here.
“Well at least you are leaving the bed and sofa.” Miles says coming into the room with a box. Lucy laughs a little and once again takes a look around the room.
“Tim has those.” Lucy points out. “You will like this place Miles. Take care of it.” Miles nods and he looks grateful that he now has a place to sleep. A comfortable place to sleep.
“Right.” Miles says and Celina gives Lucy a smile. There’s a knock on the door and then Tim steps through.
“Hey.” He says but his eyes are on Lucy. “You ready?” Lucy nods and she once again looks around the apartment.
This was where she lived with Jackson and Tamara. This is where she first kissed Tim, this is where they first slept together. They had fights here and she laid in bed night after night wondering where it all went wrong.
Wondering if she would ever be happy again or even with someone else. She came home the day after Valentine’s Day a little crushed and mad at herself.
She should of talked to Tim then.
She got ready to go to his house on April Fool’s day.
There were so many memories attached to this apartment. Good and bad. She would miss it—and she knows she can always come back to visit.
But her home is Tim’s now. He’s always been her home. It was a place as much as a person.
“Lucy.” She feels Tim wrap himself around her, and he rests his chin on her shoulder. He presses a kiss to her neck. And she’s well aware that Miles and Celina are watching. But she doesn’t care. “Are you okay?”
“I’m good.” She says turning around his arms. He holds onto her and she presses a kiss to his lips. “It’s just weird leaving this place, so much has happened.”
“I know.” Tim whispers looking down at her, his eyes sparkling. “But we will make new memories at our house.”
Lucy blows out a breath and pulls him down to kiss her. Their house. Their house.
Oh it was going to be so good.

“Thank you.” Celina says giving Lucy a hug. “For everything. For letting me live here. For being a friend.”
“Of course.” Lucy says and she looks around the apartment once again. It wasn’t now empty of her boxes. Tim and Miles were carrying the last few boxes to the cars. And it was just Lucy and Celina still in the apartment. “You were good roommate. And I appreciate you helping me and Tim.”
Celina grins at her. “It wasn’t all me. It was Angela too.” She says. “But trust me it was worth it. You are happy?”
“Happier than I have been in a long time.” Lucy replies. Celina is right, it was worth it because they were both being stubborn. And there was a misunderstanding on both their parts but—
She knows it would be worth it. She knows they were going to fight for each other—no matter what.
“Good.” Celina says and she does looks satisfied. “I’m glad. Now you better get down there before Tim comes back up.”
Lucy nods and reaches into her pocket to pull out her key. She hands it to Celina and then turns around to walk out the door.
Tim is waiting for her by his truck. Miles gives her a nod and then walks back to the building. Lucy meets Tim in the middle and wraps her arms around his neck. She pulls him down for a kiss, and it still amazes her she can do this again.
“Now what?” She asks looking up at him. “We go home?” Tim nods and takes her hand.
“Yes.” He says. “We go home.”

“How much stuff do you have?” Tim asks as he stands in the middle of all the boxes. “I didn’t know you had this much stuff.”
Lucy laughs a little and loops her arms with his. “Me neither. I guess I accumulated it over the years.”
“Must have.” Tim mutters. He walks over to a box and opens it. Lucy watches as he pulls out a apron (which she was definitely going to make him wear one day—and only that). He pulls out a spice rack, and a small box of spices.
“Spices?” He asks. “You know I have these right?” Lucy shrugs her shoulders and makes her way over to him.
“Yes.” She says giving him a smirk. “But do you have a spice rack?” Tim rolls his eyes and puts the things aside before going to the next box. She watches as he pulls out some silverware, towels and plastic containers.
“Jesus.” He mutters and digs through the box. “There’s so much.” He opens the box the silverware is in and Lucy walks over. She stands behind him as he opens the box up, and she sees her salad forks (the ones they would be using for their eventual dinner party with their friends).
“Forks?” Tim asks looking up at her. He looks confused and it’s adorable. “I have forks.”
“Yes.” Lucy agrees. “You do have forks. But you only have one kind of fork. Those are salad forks.”
Tim drops the box and stands up pulling her towards him. “You are something else.” He says. “Who needs two kind of forks?” Lucy bites her lips from telling him there are more than two kinds of forks.
“We do.” She says. “You don’t live alone anymore Bradford.”
“No I don’t.” Tim says pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “And I’m really happy about that.” Lucy sighs and wraps herself around him. She’s glad she’s here with Tim. She’s glad they are giving them a shot again.
She’s glad that she gets Tim for the rest of her life.
And it’s going to be so, so good.
She couldn’t wait to start their next chapter.
With Tim.
