April 15th, 1680, San Cristóbal de La Habana, Cubao
Captain's Log - Lance McClain, Captain of Nuestra Señora de Azul
His majesty has sent us to Cubao to get tabaco plants. We have been sailing for just over two months. The crew is excited to set foot on Cubao for the first time. We shall buy food and tabaco, then set sail again to return to the motherland.

The crew is well fed. We arrived at a mesón soon after dark and drank until the night was around us. We slept in the mesón and expect to return to our nao at first light. We shall buy the tabaco and leave at the break of day in two days time.

The crew has begun to collect the tabaco from los ingenios. Some have reported to see ships of pirates off the shore. I assume it may be English with false flags, due to the fact that the vigías didn't spot them sailing.

We have again set sail. I am growing suspicious of the English ship that continues to follow us, since the English should not be following the same route. The food we have should last for longer than we need.
