Guy raised an eyebrow and turned to his friend, "So... you took the Krypton repopulation thing very seriously."
"What?" the smile disappeared from Superman's face, replaced by genuine confusion.
"Sure, Batman wouldn't have been my first choice, and god only knows how that happened, but I know enough alien species that can reproduce even among members of the same genus, so...congratulations, anyway. Are you already planning the next one or...?"
Superman opened his mouth to speak, then closed it again, his cheeks red in total mortification. Robin pulled his cloak, "Am I really going to have a little brother? Will I have him for Christmas?"
(If you don't want your coworkers to think you're having a relationship with your best friend/crush, don't bring his son to work with you. Especially when that son is a little shit who takes a lot from his father.)

"Tanjuro," Zenitsu gasped, and whatever he meant, the words were lost in a groan of pleasure that was swallowed up by the night around them. He clung to his shoulders, panting and hiding his face in the crook of his neck.
Ahh, too embarrassing! Tanjirou, have mercy on his poor heart, he won't be able to take it if you keep touching him like that - as if he were precious, as if he were loved.
And Zenitsu was, he knew he was, he just had difficulty understanding that someone like him could be loved by someone like Tanjiuro.

The young man stared at him, shocked.
"You... don't you remember me?" he asked, finding it simply inconceivable.
And Lance, in other circumstances, would have been amused by that reaction, but there was a little girl he had to bring back to her mother; he hadn't slept for almost twenty-seven hours and needed a break.
"No, dude, now if you want to excuse me..."
The boy turned Lance to him, their faces a short distance away, purple eyes fixed on his, and Lance's treacherous heart skipped a beat.
"Blue Spirit, I'm Red Warrior. Do you really not remember me?"
At that point, Lance began to break out in a cold sweat. Of course, he couldn't remember him. Lance wasn't the real one.
(In which, due to a stupid stunt, the seventeen-year-old Lance dies and finds himself in the body of a villain of his best friend's favourite graphic novel, trying not to attract too much attention. Too bad for Lance, Keith doesn't make things easy for him at all.)

"God, Buddha... whoever is out there, please, kill me," he prayed, exhausted, unable to move a single muscle of his body. He didn’t even know how long he had been there. Yet, God or whoever it was, had not finished with him yet.
"Oh, look... what a pleasant surprise," a voice above him said. A voice that Zenitsu knew well.
"Tanjirou?" he thought, unsure whether to feel relieved or terrified. Somehow, the voice didn’t sound right. He barely managed to lift his head to follow the voice. Above him, dressed in a black haori and wearing his unmistakable earrings, was Tanjirou.
But it wasn’t his Tanjirou. He didn’t need exceptional hearing or a keen sense of smell to notice it. The red eyes revealed his true nature. That was a demon.

"I'm hallucinating now," Damian muttered to himself, as the boy stared at him, uncertainly, "Mhm, pretty sure I'm not a hallucination."
"That's what a hallucination would say, Richard," he said, knowing he sounded petulant. Whatever the Galra had given him to keep him quiet, it was stronger than many of the drugs he had become accustomed to during his training with the League of Assassins.
It was only for this reason that he risked falling forward. Fortunately for him, he was promptly grabbed by the boy. It was a strong, solid grip, and definitely not a hallucination.
Damian looked up, meeting eyes that reminded him of a dead man, and the other said, "You confused me with another person. My name is not Richard. It's Lance."
(During his imprisonment on an alien ship, after sacrificing himself to save Earth, Damian meets a boy who reminds him terribly of his dead brother. He can't be who he believes, but the resemblance is striking, and Damian just wants to believe that something left by Dick Grayson still exists.)

Summary
The cowl was little more than shreds held together by aspirations and a prayer. Which shouldn't have been that bad if not for the fact that this was the backup—this was the second cowl to suffer this fate on that day.
Bruce stared at the two halves of the last cowl he had had in storage on the Watchtower in disgruntlement. This would not be an issue if he were in the cave–where he had plenty of replacements. Which didn't help the fact that the cowl in his hands was unsalvageable.

After his cowl breaks in a fight Bruce is forced to attend the debriefing with a domino mask instead. He comes to regret it.

Clark swallows, then takes a tentative step forward, then another. Soon, he’s standing right in front of it, his heart pounding in his chest.
He takes a breath, then looks into the crib.
His stomach drops again.
“Oh.”
“I’m so sorry,” Lena says quietly. Her voice shakes a little.
Clark doesn’t reply. His eyes are locked on what’s in the crib, taking in the round cheeks, the small fists, the thick, dark hair.
He doesn’t need to breathe, technically, but he feels like all the oxygen in his lungs has been stolen anyway.
After what feels like an eternity, they scrunch up their face, wiggle a little, yawn, and then slowly open their eyes.
Blue.
Bright, otherworldly blue eyes, just like his own, stare back at him.

“Wow!” Diana exclaims. “Most congratulations!” Hal and Oliver clap and whoop, and Clark smiles in appreciation.
“Ohmygosh,” Barry continues, “I was just saying the other day that you two would figure it out! Hal, you owe me twenty—”
“—To Lois Lane," Bruce interrupts, still staring out the window.
Bruce’s interruption has the entire table falling silent, faces genuinely falling, mouths snapping closed. Clark doesn’t really understand why anyone would need the clarification.
