This is a fanfiction story about the characters Theo Decker and Boris Pavlikovsky from The Goldfinch. I have read the book, but most of this will be based off the movie (with details that are canon in the book). I really wanted to see more of the two's deep connection in the film. I feel as though there wasn't enough buildup to their kiss, so I am here to fill in that gap!Theodore Decker, only 13 at the time of his mother's untimely demise. A demise that shook him to his core, unravelling every fiber of his being, every spindle that made up who he was. A demise that was his fault. In the thick of his seemingly never-ending, all-encompassing grief, he meets a peculiar boy with a noticeable accent and a similarly troubled upbringing who makes him /feel/.
