Tranquility Never Lingers

Summary:

What happens when you go against your programming.

When life becomes perfect and still.

But under all that stillness lies a hidden recklessness.

And unfortunately for some, secrets come back to bite.

Or kill.

A Yellue fic. One of the few.

Notes:

It is late at night, and I have been planning this all day. Finally, it has been approved by myself for release!

I'm currently working on a much longer series, and a shorts compilation, so for the sake of time and my sanity, this story is going to be a short one. Hopefully it captivates you as much as it did me.

It is based heavily on Blue and Yellow, but I will try my best to incorporate the other sticks as much as I can. I also feel kind of bad, I gave them whole detailed lives, but hardly am going to expand on them... Oh well, I suppose I can leave the abundance to your imagination!

Happy reading~

Chapter 1: Idyllic

Chapter Text

It's been years since the showdown. Since Victim turned H4CK3R had tried to eliminate their creator, Alan.

So much has happened since then.

H4CK3R and Alan made up; H4CK3R returned to just being Vic—no longer Victim—and returned to life at Rocket Corp, building and making Stick City a better place. He'd come to terms with the loss of his wife, and had decided to forgive The Chosen One and The Dark Lord for what they had done. All the pain they had caused. Instead, he restored The Chosen One's name, so that she was no longer known as No One. While still on edge around each other, they gained a mutual respect.

Chosen and Dark even made up, becoming good friends again. Although, Dark still kept his mischievous side, and often had to be scolded by his now-wife.

Life was peaceful, everything finally settling down into place like a beautiful puzzle of tranquility and forgiveness.

The Colour Gang chose to settle down as well, taking up residence in Stick City. Alan had gone on to be famous, and unfortunately hardly had the extra time to spend with his beloved fighting stick figures anymore. But that didn't mean they cut ties altogether. Second and Alan developed a weird cross-dimensional communication device, and often the Gang would go back up to visit Alan in his PC.

They even still had their odd adventures in Minecraft.

But they'd all grown older. Wiser. They made a promise to each other, to settle down fully and just live a normal, peaceful life. No more bizarre adventures, no more danger. However, they were still programmed as “fighting stick figures,” so they did enjoy their occasional play fights, just against each other. They never lost their innate touch.

Green eventually opened his very own music store named “Digital Jams,” and taught all ages the art of music. Now his YouTube channel is full of tutorials and music videos. He loves showing off his students’ talents.

Purple works there part-time, helping her fiance around the personally-run shop, as it could get very busy sometimes, due to Green's naturally drawing nature. Or perhaps she's just using it as an excuse to hang out more with the hopeless romantic that was soon to be her husband come spring. Everybody knew the latter was more likely. Green and Purple continue to deny it to this day. During Purple's free time, however, you can find her either hanging out at her adopted father's house, or volunteering at the local cancer (stickitis) centre.

Red works full time at an animal shelter. Well, that shelter being their house that is. Believe it or not Red and Second had actually gotten married, surprisingly fast. Their son Beckett was already two years old, and the cutest stick on this side of the outernet.

Second is a part-time animator, in tribute to Alan. His real job though is working alongside Vic at the biggest industry in Stick City, Rocket Corp. Using his skills and special abilities, he's helped repair the city's numerous damages, and upgrade it completely! Stick City is bigger, and more advanced than ever thanks to their efforts. He's made quite the name for himself as Vic's Second (heh) in Command, alongside Agent.

Yellow is in his fifth and final year of engineering school before he would obtain his bachelor's degree. He hoped to also join Rocket Corp, and bring a ton of new ideas to the table for how they could continue to improve and expand.

And Blue, oddly enough, became a food stylist. Her natural flare for beauty and knowledge in the fine arts quickly brought her to the number one spot. Her perfectionism produced dazzling works of beauty that made your taste buds explode with other-worldly flavours. And in her free time, she taught ramen classes, specializing in all forms of Japanese cuisine. She still makes an abundance of potions that she sells on the market. Getting over her nether wart addiction, she found the thrill of styling to be a much better substitute.

But some—

“Love. You realize narrating is my thing, right?”

“Oh don't ruin my fun Darling.”

“Shouldn't you at least introduce yourself?”

“Mmm, I suppose.”

“...”

“Haha. If you insist, Yellow. I'll let the Reader know that I am the luckiest woman on earth to be married to a man like you.”

“Mama! Papa! Don't forget about me!”

“Of course Grub Dear, how could I forget?”

“Blue.”

“Fine fine…”

“...What?”

“...Sigh”

“Ow! What was that for!?”

“Well I suppose they know now.”

“Know what?”

“Yellow. Darling. Love of my life.”

“Hmm?”

“You just told them who I was.”

“...oh.”

Let's begin with the story now… shall we?
