Summary
Five years after everything ended, Mike Wheeler is barely holding it together. He lives alone in a shitty apartment in Hawkins, works a dead-end job at the local newspaper, and hasn't spoken to any of his friends since they graduated. Everyone thinks he's still grieving El. They're wrong.
Then Mr. Clarke dies, and Mike can't avoid the funeral. Can't avoid Will Byers, who just moved back from New York. Will, whose letters Mike stopped answering. Will, who won't stop trying to understand what went wrong between them.
Hawkins is too small for hiding. And Mike is running out of places to run.
