   Summary

   It was all his fault.
   His mother and his siblings had been murdered, ripped away from life in the most cruel of ways… And where had he been? Why didn’t he listen to his gut and return to them in spite of the dark? He could have at least died along with his family, instead of being left all alone in the world.
   But in the middle of his darkest hour, a light managed to shine through his pain; his twin sister Nezuko was still breathing. She was alive.

   Tanjiro knew he had to save her. He couldn’t fail her like he had failed the rest of their family. It didn’t matter if the snow was thick enough to make him trip and fall, it didn’t matter if Nezuko started to growl like an animal and grew twice her size as if it was nothing, it didn’t matter if she threw herself over him and tried to eat him as if she didn’t recognize her own brother, and it definitely didn’t matter that two men with katanas threatened both of their lives and accused Nezuko of being a demon; He was going to save her, no matter what!
