Work Text:

It's quiet at night.

Not in an eery way, it's just..... Silent.

Especially more now that 𝘩𝘦'𝘴 not here.

She creeps through the paths, the familiar tingle through her body. She's used to it by now, the odd sensation of the invisibility cap. Almost feels like static.

After walking for a bit, she gets there. A spot she's well aquanted with now.

She comes here whenever she misses him, his sheets still smell like him. And while it'd be embarrassing to get caught, she knows Chiron would understand.

She walks up to the grand doors of the Poseidon cabin, opening them and walking over to his bed.

She falls onto it, instantly hugging a pillow like it's a lifeline.

She feels a tear run down her cheek, but she has bigger problems to face than that.

She buries her face in the pillow, imagining it's him, and that he's hugging her.

She lets out a tiny sob as she pulls the covers around her, the last piece of her boyfriend she can take a hold of.

After about an hour or 2 she sits up, inhaling his pillow one last time. She knows the scent will wear off eventually, but it doesn't matter.

As she begins to walk out, something catches her eye. A sparkle, almost, at the little fountain in the cabin. She approaches it.

It's an Iris message.

She knows it's stupid to hope, but she does.

She tosses a darachma into the fountain and wipes a tear away from her cheek. It's silent for a moment before a blurry face comes into view.

"A-Annabeth?" The voice says, almost questioning but not quite.

"Percy?" She asks. Another sob escapes her lips.

"No, no don't cry!" He says. His eye brows furrow in concern.

"Wait, how do you remember me?" She asks.

Hes silent for a moment. Annabeth sniffles. "Percy...? Please don't leave me again" her voice cracks as another tear trails down her face.

"Annabeth...." He says. The Iris message dissapears.

"Wh- what!? No!" She says. Another sob escaping her lips. She drops to her knees, her head resting on the fountain as she sobs.

She runs to his closet, grabbing a hoodie and hugging it. Breathing in his scent.

She hadn't seen him for months, she didn't even get to tell him.

Tell him she loved him.

She pounds her fists against the fountain, an angered sob escaping her lips.

"Why..... " she says.

"Why can't anything be good for me... " she curls into a ball against the fountain.

Suddenly, there's a knock on the door.

She knows this person is aware she's in there so she answers it.

She takes a step backwards in shock...

It's him

It's Percy.

He looks incredibly tired, but there's still a smile plastered on his face. His hair is all messy but she doesn't care.

She practically jumps into his arms, hugging him so tightly.

"You can't ever leave me like that again" she whispers in his ear.

"Noted" he says.

They kiss.
