Drugs do weird things to your brain chemistry, but the infatuation and interest Jabber harbored had nothing to do with the sheer amount of chemicals in his system. It was all natural baby, and it just so happened that falling head-over-heels for a model meant that chasing his 'perfect person' became unreasonably hard. He'd just have to work his way to the top.
