Summary
It’s the summer of 1985, and Hawkins, Indiana is doing what it does best: pretending everything is normal while absolutely not being normal at all.
Steve Harrington, twenty-six, trust fund kid turned aggressively competent domestic icon, has returned to town with his greatest life decision and permanent weakness, his adopted daughter Max Harrington. Steve never had the soft, unquestioned safety of family growing up, so he compensates by hovering with purpose, cooking too much, worrying quietly, and loving Max with a steadiness that surprises everyone, including himself. Max, meanwhile, is thriving. She skates everywhere, weaponizes cuteness when necessary, and considers it her sacred duty to keep her dad happy, safe, and blissfully ignorant of monsters, Russians, and interdimensional nonsense.
