Chapter Text
The streets are quiet as radio static is heard throughout the town. Rung out l as the sun is only starting to wake up.
The cool breeze of the late autumn air settles in as the news broadcasts from house to house.
A comfortable tragedy plays into the ears of people brewing a cup of coffee and simultaneously listening to the sizzling of breakfast by the stove. A story no one can bother to bat an eye at.
“Good morning Goldcrest. As of today, November 7th 1985 three teens have been reported missing. Their names are Andres Hamilton, Charlotte Miller, and Cyndi Ocean. Ages 17, 14, and 16 respectively. If you know them and have any idea on where they are. Please report to your local police station…”
A rigid silence hangs in the air before the broadcaster swallows their condolence and continues.
“...as for the weather, we're looking at a beautiful Thursday morning here with a partially cloudy sky and a quaint breeze planning to go through all day. If you plan-”
The radio cord gets cut out abruptly by angry hands. As a brother rips a paper in his rage. Frantically searching for any photo for another. Cursing under his breath as he comes up empty handed. Ripping the rest of the papers off of his desk,he storms off to his fathers shed. Bringing out a tool kit as he goes out to the rest of the town. Nailing down one sign to a fence before moving on to another spot.
A sign reading.
“Missing person. Atticus Parker”
A poster missing a face.
Welcome to Goldcrest.
