Work Text:
It was the first time in a long time that Alex was able to celebrate their birthday.
Percy and Jason had asked if they wanted something big, though Alex declined, they did say that Cass could come over.
Cass was the easiest to get used to. With getting used to Percy’s signing, having another person in their life didn’t change it, and Cass always seemed to know when Alex needed a break.
Don’t get them wrong, Alex loved everyone, but outside of Percy and Jason, who’d they now started calling Jay, Cass was their favourite. And Alfred but he was more of a great-grandfather, not that Alex mined, the man made great cookies.
Alex was excited, there was a good amount of presents for them.
Alex hadn’t asked for much, but with what they did ask for, they got.
Alex got a whole bunch of new art supplies, the ones they knew cost a lot, but whatever Jay did, it made a lot of money. Then there was also a $100 gift card for a bookstore so Alex could pick out their own books.
Both of those things were from Percy and Jay, Cass got them a weighted blanket and a stuffed animal that could heat up.
They loved everything.
It wasn’t a big thing, but for the first time in a long time, Alex felt like a child. Curled up in the couch with Percy and Jay, Cass lying on the floor, all of them watching a movie Alex put on, it was peaceful.
