"He could have a wife," said one thoughtful student. "Just because he's married doesn't mean it's to Mr. Black—besides Mr. Black doesn't wear a wedding ring."
Another chimed in, "Mr. Black wears a million rings, one of them could be a wedding ring. And are we forgetting the tattoo?"
A third inquisitive student asked, "Do people get tattoos instead of wedding rings?" Which earned a resounding, shouted, "Yes," from at least six students, although none of them had any idea if this was true.
Mr. Lupin teaches English and Mr. Black teaches French. They are just friends. Unless they aren't. Their middle school students are on a mission to find out the truth.
