Summary
After all that has gone down in Thebes, and after Oidipous robbed himself of his own sight, he is left pondering and awaiting the punishment that he'll be given. Seated alone, away from all others, his mind remains troubled. When asked, Kreon cannot offer him the comfort of a punishment yet. At least a conversation with his uncle/brother-in-law can allow Oidipous not to lose full hope yet.
