It's easy.
Watching Ravi with the 118 and feeling like she's incapable of stopping the fall.
May's been falling for Ravi for a while.
It's not new.
But it keeps starting all over again.
"You're staring," says Buck with a chuckle as he settles next to her on the steps leading to the 118's Lounge. "When are you going to talk to him?"
"When I feel like I won't stutter," huffs May as she hugs her knees.
She's never felt so unsteady about approaching someone she likes.
She's confident, and she always goes for what she wants.
But something about falling for Ravi has her hesitant. Like making that move will ruin everything.
"Do I need to tell him to come talk to you?" asks Buck with an amused tone as he arches a brow at her.
"No!" yelps May loudly.
"Everything okay over there?" Eddie calls as he looks over at them, drawing everyone's attention to the stairs.
"May just--" She slaps her hand over Buck's mouth so quick he tips back in surprise.
"Yeah, everything's fine!" calls May as she waves her other hand for them to stop looking. She smacks Buck's shoulder hard when they do. "What the heck, Buckley?!"
"What? You want to talk to Ravi, and he keeps looking over here at you," snorts Buck as he grins at her like a jerk.
"He does not," huffs May as she glares at him.
"Yes, he does!" says Buck before he turns her face and she gasps in surprise at seeing Ravi's eyes widen before he turns away from them. "Can't tell me I'm wrong now."
"You're so smug," groans May as she shoves his hand away. "Shuddup. It's probably because they'd looked earlier."
"It's so not," huffs Buck before he stands and walks away without another word.
May is immediately on edge as Buck approaches them and throws an arm around Eddie's shoulder.
Until her phone buzzes against her stomach, and she has to sit back to look at it.
Unknown: Hey, it's Ravi. Do you wanna go get coffee with me... Right now?
May looks up, cheeks burning, and sees Ravi tipping his head to the side.
May: I'd love to.
She stands as he steps back.
Not that Eddie and Buck seem to notice as Hen's hands move more as she speaks.
So, May walks over to the group, not getting close enough to really alert anyone to her approach, but they all seem to notice when Ravi twists around to fall into step with her.
"Where are you two going?" calls Hen in an exasperated tone.
"To get coffee," replies Ravi over his shoulder. "If I gotta watch Eddie and Buck dance around each other anymore, I need one. Text your order!"
May snorts into her sweater sleeve as Buck and Eddie both squawk loudly behind them in offense.
It may not be a date, or maybe it is, but it's pretty great regardless.
