Work Text:

Mono's been annoying Six since they first met; his insistent hand pulling, his blabbering, his shyness to show his face– all of it, annoying!

And now he's found a new thing to bug the poor girl with...

Recently he's brought back a small pile of magazines from before everything happened– when things were 'normal'– so the two can learn what was once.

Although it's obvious he just wants more things to read and learn about, like some loser...

Either way! It's been clear he's thoroughly reading them judging by what he's been pestering Six with.

The girl, quiet and sharp, was sitting there peacefully by the window, trying to figure out how to read a map properly, when suddenly she felt the gentle touch of calloused fingers pull her hair back behind her ear.

She flinched her head to the side, but before she could react, she felt lips softly press against her cheek.

She leaned back– a slight huff leaving her– and furrowed her eyebrows at the perpetrator who just 'kissed' her as he liked to call it.

"Hiii, Six~" The boy hummed happily, pulling his mask down in a hurried manner.

"What do you need now, hm?" She sighed quietly, rolling her head back in a tired manner, giving him a slight glare. "Is it my patience?"

He let out a little snort at her irritation, the paper of his bag crinkling as he shook his head. "No, I'm just doing step one of 'Being a Good Boyfriend'." He winked in a childish way– not like she could see, though.

She let out a groan and clenched her teeth, tugging on the fabric of her hood while pressing her back against the window; he's been doing this each morning for days now...

"Why do you still read that dumb thingy? It's completely useless!" She peeked an eye open, watching him with his hand behind his back standing in front of her before whispering, "I don't even fully know what a 'boyfriend' is..."

"Because Six! It's important to me that our friendship flourishes and grows into something beautiful!~" The boy dramatically drew his hand out from his chest and tilted his head back, leaning a little closer into her space.

"Which reminds me, the magazine says I need to give you four more kisses to make you happy this morning." With that, he tugged his mask up and leaned in while Six screeched and squirmed.

Mono chuckled and made kissy noises while trying to get Six to sit still, the girl practically hissing and wrestling with him while he had the time of his life.

During their 'romantic' moment, Six's hand accidentally pushed against the map too harshly, ripping and crumpling the paper– making Mono immediately stop his motions and gasp.

He pulled back from her and quickly grabbed the map, inspecting the tear.

"So that's what makes you stop..." She grumbled, relaxing her body a bit as she gave him a side glance.

The boy laid the paper flat against the windowsill, rubbing his hands gently across the paper to de-crumple it– ignoring her quiet comment and instead mumbling inaudible worries to himself.

She felt slight pride, watching him fuss over the tear in his map after bugging her so much like that; but as she continued watching, a small idea came to her mind.

She leaned in close enough, her hand coming into his view. He turned his head just to see Six right beside him.

Her hand quickly grabbed his shoulder before he could move back, the other tugging his mask up high enough to reveal his mouth.

She saw his lips tighten into a line, a small squeak leaving him when she moved in closer.

Mono braced himself, squeezing his eyes shut before feeling... her tongue lick his cheek?

"EW, Six!" He recoiled, his mouth frowning in disgust before the mask fell back down on his face– concealing his blush. "Why would you lick my face-?!"

"What? Isn't that the same thing you were doing to me?" A mischievous smirk adorned her face, now sitting back down in her original spot.

He brought his sleeve up to his face, letting out a small huff and shaking his head.

"No, you little weirdo, what you did was gross and not... cute at all..." His voice faltered a little as he carried out his sentence, letting out a small groan after it.

"Yeah? Well, you should wash your face. It tastes gross." She retorted, making a puking motion after– that fangy smile still on her face.

His fists balled up, biting his lip as he rolled his eyes. "Fine! But I'll be back for lesson two, just so you know."

She didn't reply as she watched him scurry off, hearing him fib about how she wouldn't taste good either.

She relaxed, turning her head back down to the map– remaining silent while he was gone.

Notes:

The song 'kiss a girl in black' started to play when I wrote that first 'kissing' scene, which I found sorta cute.

Anyway, this is my first time posting on ao3 and I have no idea how to use tags plus this was corssposted from wattpad.
