Summary
“Hoy! Vitek!” Svatya called out, “Want to hit up the Wagoners’ Inn for some drinks?”
“I caaaaan’t,” Vitek dropped his head back with a dramatic groan, “Mother’s got me headed off to search for father. Maybe some other time, Svatya.”
Svatya frowned, his expression twisting in the way that suggested his mind was doing double the work it was accustomed to. Then, as suddenly as they had furrowed, his brows shot up as he hopped up on the bottom rung of the gate.
“How about I come with you, then?” Svatya asked, his smile wide and proud, “The two of us together, we should be able to find him twice as fast!”
“How would that work? If you come with me and not-” Vitek stopped himself. There was no point in arguing. “You know what, whatever. Come along!”
“Yes!” Svatya punched the air as he hopped off the fence, and together they ventured into the woods.
