Shadow is on a mission.
It's the same mission he's been on, ever since discovering something about himself he never knew. He's changed because of that discovery. He's someone better than the person he used to be.
After tracking down a crime syndicate and the trafficking ring they run, he's determined to follow through on his goal to protect the ones that need it most.

Sonic the Hedgehog has a goal.
It's a goal he's been working towards in secret. The only one that knows why is the person he trusts more than anyone else. If he can keep even one person from experiencing what he did, he's accomplished that goal.
When he learns that G.U.N is going to "rescue" people taken captive by traffickers, people like him, he makes it his mission to get there and truly set them free.
(A rewrite of In the Shadows of Our Sanctum, because that was more of a very rough draft than anything else. The original will stay up for those that enjoyed it!)
