Now, with Shadow, he'd have to grapple unpleasantly with the fact that he's a bit hot, so it has an effect on him. Amy is no stranger to those effects either, so they agreed to monopolize him in their relationship before anyone else.
Living with Shadow wasn't the best thing that had ever happened to him, but at least they could teach him how to be less of a jerk while falling in love with him.

It didn't concern her. He had never told her something didn't concern her before. He'd said something was a secret (which meant it really was a surprise for her) or that he wanted to think about it alone, but he'd never dismissed her like this before.
"Excuse me?" she replied slowly, sounding angrier than she'd meant to.
When Maria wakes up from a nightmare that ended with her death, the world isn't quite right anymore. Shadow begins acting strange not soon after, and on top of that Maria finds herself reliving the same day over and over. With her being the only one to notice and the adults not believing her, it's now up to her to figure out just what exactly is going on—not just with time, but also with her brother.
