Agent Stone from the future, mad with grief and willing to do anything to get Robotnik back, also has plans for him tonight, and isn't afraid to crash a party. Kidnapping him to shape into the man he remembers him becoming, Agent Stone has to chase himself through time and space before the Ivo he loves is changed forever.
A collaboration with JustALittleAuthor, this is my unique take on this story we're shaping together, a "what if" parallel that exists side by side with their fic.

Set 15-20 years prior to the first Sonic movie, Doctor Ivo Robotnik (42) is studying his 3rd doctorate and studying hard. An academic, certified weirdo, and outcast. As he has been all his life. He’s used to it. Besides, humanity doesn’t deserve his attention anyway.
Aban Stone (23) is studying a Bachelors in Engineering and taking on a multitude of extracurriculars, electives and club commitments. He’s friends with just about everyone with a foot in the door of every clique on campus. Jocks, nerds, theatricals, and everyone in between. He does what he must to fit in.
When the pair meet, Stone is instantly enamoured. As is the doctor, though it takes him longer to realise. Robotnik had never been worthy of love and affection. He thought the experience was simply not in the cards for him. But now Stone has shaken his entire understanding of self, he’s bombared by thoughts, feelings, and hormones—yuck—that he’s never experienced before. Stone has dissolved Robotnik’s perfectly developed, trained, and genius brain to that of a prepubescent teen. Stone has him feeling so disgustingly high school.

Robotnik has Hanahaki disease, he coughs up lavender and he is very much not happy about it. It is later discovered that Stone’s favorite flower is lavender.
Ivo had been coughing up little flower petals for weeks, at first it had been just an annoyance, but now it was really starting to get on his nerves. Looking down into the fist full of petals he found himself confused, why is he coughing up petals, why did they have to be the most disgusting flowers in the world, they smelt like a spiritual guru’s asshole, and tasted even worse. How people found them calming was beyond himself.
After a little research Ivo realized this deadly disease is something called Hanahaki disease, an infection of unrequited love where spores take over the lungs and bloom flowers.
Unrequited love? Ivo had no such thing! He’d never loved anyone, and he would never give anyone his time like that, they didn’t deserve it. No. This had to be a mistake, however he couldn’t stop himself from watching his sweet agent care for him and clean the blood from his lips.

The first story is an origin story for my OC, after I got back into Sonic the Hedgehog following the movie universe.
A rabbit, a mad doctor, his too‑loyal assistant, and two incompetent robots walk into a lair… Sandi’s curiosity lands her in Robotnik’s clutches, where dinner plans turn into theatre, loyalty turns into conflict, and survival means keeping her defiance alive.
The story is set 15 years into the future for my character's backstory. Robotnik has been in hiding with Agent Stone and rebooted Scratch and Grounder in an underground lair. How quaint. He's gone stir crazy and hasn't seen anyone else in years, so of course, it's going to be completely normal.

He turned to face Robotnik, his hardened expression instantly softening back into the one he reserved only for him – with eyes wide, and lost like a puppy, instead of cold and sharp like those of a wolf - but not before Robotnik was able to catch a glimpse of it anyway, and suddenly, the genius was momentarily reminded of the wild animal that allowed itself to be kept docile under his thumb.
It was an easy fact to forget, Thought Robotnik, and given the agents rather submissive tendencies, and unwavering devotion - towards him, at least - it was one he often did…
