Chapter Text

Cyrene hummed as she borderline skipped through the streets of Okhema, moving with practiced ease as the scripted movements of each person passed by her, Cyrene keeping her eyes closed as she walked.

After all she had a very important meeting she had to attend, outside of being a Chrysos heir of course, she was out for a personal meeting.

A personal meeting with Cifera, or Cipher as the cat demi human preferred. And the pink haired maiden couldn’t WAIT to see her again.

Well technically this was their first meeting in this cycle but Cyrene considered it as just a reunion, after all until Cipher finally gets to exist in the future she will remain on Amphoreus with her, in these eternal cycles Cyrene has trapped herself in for the sake of the universe, using the remembrance to keep Irontomb sealed away.

Sometimes Cyrene regretted it, she missed the trailblazers she met, she missed the idea of breaking out of the cycles, but she knew this was for the betterment of the universe that she loved so much.

She gave herself away for humanity, for the stars, and she would still have picked the same choice even if she could go back in time.

The pink maiden eventually stopped near a spire, an ancient one that bordered the river to Styxia, a spire she knew Cipher would run into to collect the MANY jewels that rested there.

So she just set up a small picnic, As I’ve written, remaining on her side and setting up various foods and desserts, even a nice bottle of honey brew and began to wait for the demi god.

And shortly after she did show up, the gust of wind that the coin of whimsy created with her speed threatened to knock over the whole arrangement, but the goddess just raised her hand and used the power of remembrance to keep everything in place.

“The motherload! More for my stash!” the cat woman purred out as she quickly collected the various valuables, Cyrene just watching with a small smile on her face as she watched the theft happen.

How many times has she seen it now? She didn’t care, she waited for her grand entrance, the moment Cipher would notice that she wasn’t the only one in the room.

Cipher turned her head and jolted, her hand lightly pausing over the necklace she had yet to grab before stuffing it into the pouch she had.

“Well! I wasn’t expecting anyone else here! Tell me are these marvelous things your treasure?” the demigod purred out, using the coin of whimsy to lean close to the pink haired maiden, who just giggled and gestured for the demi god to sit next to her.

“They aren't, I'm just here so I could see you.” Cyrene smiled, watching as Cipher’s gaze turned intrigued and slotted herself on the empty section of the blanket, her swift hands moving to gladly pouring herself a chalice of honey brew to drink on, piercing eyes reading every move Cyrene did, not that she minded.

She liked those crystalline eyes on her, she loved when the demigod stared at her, when before the end of each cycle when the two get close enough for Cyrene to hold her, to kiss her, to pretend like eventually Cipher wouldn’t leave the moment Cipher had the chance to become real.

“Oh really? And your name is?” Cipher smiled, taking a long sip of the honey brew, her eyes still scanning Cyrene’s form as she giggled, moving to gingerly pick up a grape from one of the many things she brought with her

“Oh I go by many things, but I’d like it if you called me Cyrene!” she smiled, watching slight recognition flicker through Cipher’s eyes, Aglaea most likely spoke about her the few times the two interacted after Cipher’s ascension to demigod status.

“Ahh no wonder you ring a bell for me, you're the demiurge correct?” she leaned over the food to slightly invade Cyrene’s personal space, making the pink maiden blush from the action she’s seen countless times as she nodded.

“Right on the money! Although I’m not here to speak to you as a Chrysos heir, I’m more here to… steal something of yours.” Cyrene hummed, popping the grape into her mouth as Cipher’s eyes sparkled with greed and the challenge.

“Oh really? Trying to steal something of mine? The greediest god to ever grace Amphoreus? What could you possibly be aiming to steal?” the cat demigod asked, honey brew lightly tinting her lips as she leaned impossibly close to the remembrance emanator, the maiden smiling and moving to pluck off another grape, pushing it against Cipher’s lips before she spoke in a sing song tone.

“Oh me? Nothing too big, just your heart- ♪” the maiden giggled, leaving the usually quick on her feet Cipher completely speechless.

And Cyrene loved that silence, she loved this little cycle she created within a cycle.

The cycle with her and Cipher.
