Kage, not wanting his friends and sister from B-class, Yami Mika, to die, he makes a deal with Shigaraki. A decision that will change his and everyone elses lives and he will come to regret.

Chapter 1: The night of the deal.

Chapter Text

It was a dark, cold night. Yami Kage was in his dark, gloomy dorm. He would sit there, just woken up from a very long nap. He looked over to his bedside and slowly pulled his phone of it. As he opened it and the blue, dim light hit his face he looked at the time. It was an unusual hour, 2:56 AM to be exact, but he was used to having a pretty messed up sleeping schedule. Iida would always bite his ears off about his sleeping habits but Kage learnt to block it out, as he didn't really care. He works best with the shadows anyway, having the conscious ability to merge and create things with them. He turned off his phone and tried to go back to sleep, but he just couldn't get his eyes to shut, like they were itching to open. After at least five or six minutes of tossing and turning in his bed passed, he knew he wouldn't get anymore rest. But, it wasn't just the feeling that he wasn't tired; it was the feeling that something was about to happen to U.A and everyone inside, including him.

His thoughts overwhelming him he decided to get up out of bed and open the window to fresh off his mind. As he opened the window the soft breeze hit his hands and he started to feel at... Peace...? For a few moments. Until, he saw movement going down outside. Movement he knows he's seen before but he knows it isn't a staff on nightly patrol or a student. I mean who would be awake on patrol at 3:02 AM? But, it felt off. He felt like he had to do something. Else something bad would happen to the school and everyone in U.A high school. So he got on his hero costume and merged into the shadows. You see some cool perks of being able to merge with the shadows is that you're basically invisible to the naked eye and the second point is that you can fly down walls with ease. So that's what he did, he basically flew down the wall until he got to ground level, another cool thing. When you merge with the shadow you ARE the shadow. So he didn't have to worry that much about breaking his bones, has that can only happen in certain situations, and that certainly wasn't one of them. As he hit the ground he realised what the source of movement was.

Wait.

No.

Just as he thought it was just a racoon or a wild animal that snuck onto the U.A campus, he found out he was wrong. Very wrong. He started to shake because there, only two whole metres away from him, was the blue haired villain wearing his black clothes and multiple hands, Tomura Shigaraki. His gloves covered his hands so he wouldn't immediately destroy the entire campus, because what's the fun in that. But, he was definitely up to a no-good mission. Every villain is. He gulped, Kade knew he needed to step in but just as soon as he even started thinking about building up the courage none other than Shigaraki himself turned to stare at him with a intimidating glare and grin.

But how? Kage was supposed to be merged with the shadows, be practically invisible to the eye of a human. Until, he realised. He made a sound. When he gulped just a second ago that must've been enough to give him and his 'hiding spot' away to the decay villain. "I know you're there, little hero." Shigaraki taunted, but Kage stayed completely still and quiet trying to keep up the façade, hoping he'd forget about it so he could plan his surprise attack for later. But it was to late, Shigaraki already knew all the tricks in the book. They did previously meet each other in a villain vs hero fight at the U.S.J, Unforeseen Simulation Joint. Kage held his breath and held a hand up to his mouth. "Come on out you little shadow dwelling hero..." He said in a teasing tone.

Kage already knew it was over for him so he knew there was no point in trying to hide away now as any attempts would be useless and just end up causing way more trouble with Shigaraki, leaving everybody and everything instead the U.A building in terrible danger. He didn't wat that to happen, so being the forever selfless person he is he decided to unmerge with the shadows and reveal himself to the blue haired villain standing right in front of him.

"So you're Yami Kage. Cute." He pretended to poke the young boy standing right in front of him. "What's a little pathetic hero like you doing outside so late, isn't it past your curfew?" The man taunted as he tried to get under his skin and make him lose it.

Silence. Until Kage finally spoke up. "Because, I heard you outside." He said quietly, almost a mumble. But, Shigaraki could hear it anyway. "And I want to protect my friends, sister and heroes from evil villains and monsters like you." He said, determination in his voice; because he didn't care, as long as everyone, especially his sister, was safe he didn't give a single damn about what could happen to him.

"So much determination for one little pest. Now, listen here. Give me one good fucking reason why I shouldn't murder you and everybody else inside of this stupid little hero program." He knew he was making Kage fearful, even if Kage wouldn't show it.

"Because, they're friends and family-" But as he was about to finish he rudely got cut off by him.

"No, No. I want a real reason. A reason why I should care." Kage shut up, thinking about the question. He couldn't speak it was almost like his vocal cords all ganged up on him. He could feel all the words of what he was thinking flying all around him telling him he needs to say them but no matter how hard he tried to could never pick back up his courage he was showing off less than a minute ago. Damn it! How was this man so good at playing with other peoples emotions, if you could even consider Shigaraki 'human' after everything he's done. "Awh. Has the cat got your precious little tongue?" This villain really couldn't give the teasing a break could he...?

"Look, I'll make you a deal." Kage's face lights up with hope. "But it isn't going to be easy."

"Please, please I'll do anything! Just don't hurt my sister ever again!"

"What about the pathetic little friends?"

"Well, I know you're going to hurt them anyway no matter what happens but you can't come on this campus with harmful intentions again!"

"Hm. You won't like this deal at all." He pauses for dramatic effect. "If you want your friends to be safe, on this campus, so badly then you have to join the League Of Villains." Suddenly, all of the colour melted out of Kage's face. He didn't want his friends to be in danger or possibly dead, but he didn't want to be a traitor either. Oh my god... So many decisions. "Take it or leave it. And remember if you leave it... Everybody's dying tonight and it's going to be all of your fault. And you won't be able to stop me won't you?" He put his gloved hands on Kage's shoulders in a manipulative false-comforting manner.

"I'll... I..! I don't want to be a traitor to my friends, or any of the heroes!" As much as he tried to seem confident his voice continued to shake with fear, scared of what's possibly going to happen.

"Okay, I guess they'll just have to die." He started to pull of his glove."

"No. NO! I'll do it, I'll do it just don't touch them...!" He screamed between chocked sobs, the thought of his friends and sister dying seeming to have a physical effect on his body.

And just like that. Kage was officially an member, well soon to be member. Of the League of Villains. He was allowed to stay in U.A until they officially let him get his Villain membership. He had to pretend that everything was normally. Everyone was on high alert because of the lack of villain threats directed at U.A, the other times stuff like this actually happened ended up making everything absolute chaos. He went through classes normally, through conversations normally, he wouldn't let the mask slip. One day, Katsuki Bakugo approached him outside of class.

"Hey nerd! Stop acting all fucking weird!" His voice boomed, his threatening demeanour daring for anybody to stand up to him and start a fight. Just Bakugo just being average Bakugo I guess. He was one of the worst people to be confronted by.

"Oh um sorry Katsuki..." He rubbed his neck nervously and mumbled it under his breath.

Then he pushed right through him like he didn't even exist muttering something about 'useless extras' under his breath, but at the point everybody was used to Bakugo being an overall horrible person at this point, and it's not like anybody could get him to stop acting up. Trust me, they've tried. Anyways, as soon as he was about to start heading to the common room himself a girl grabs his arm. He looked over his shoulder to see who the unknown individual was and quickly came to the realization that it was none other than Kyoka Jiro.

"Hey, you doing okay? You've seemed really off for at least this whole week now." She questioned. Wanting answers. This scared Kage a bit because if she found out about the idea she'd probably resent him for it, I mean who wouldn't resent him for it?

He quickly regained his composure and gave her his usual soft smile. "I'm doing just fine, just everyone being an extremely high alert gets me on high alert to you know?" He chuckled and laughed it off, desperately hiding the massive secret he's hiding.

"Well, if you say so." Jiro added on after what he said. "I know I'm probably one of the bluntest people in the room but if somethings bothering you just contact me."

He nodded, "Thank you but I'm fine, really." He knew he couldn't tell her the truth. He was too weak to tell her.

Jiro nodded back and then ended up walking off into the common room by herself. Kage thought that Jiro was a pretty nice girl. Her purple hair, her quirk... He thought she was so cool. He didn't have a crush on her even though he liked boys and girls but he wanted to know her more. Well, to bad he joined the league... Now, he won't have anymore good, non-pressure, time to hang out with those whom he cares about. But, he can't drop it now and he can't tell anyone because what would Aizawa and Nezu even do? I guess he's just got to face the music that he made himself. He started up walking again and made his way down to the common room. But, it was different. Everyone was a bit more on alert, it was still chaotic but everyone knew there was tension thick enough to cut with a large knife. He felt small and scared, but he had to pretend it was all alright.

The next few hours go on relatively normal. Iida lecturing Kade and Izuku Midoriya about there horrible sleeping schedules, Bakugo trying to burn something down or explode a chair because he's pissed off until Aizawa Sensei has to step in and stop him with his capture scarf, and the usual chaos. Soon, the day turned into the evening and the evening turned into the night. Everybody said their final words to each other for the day before going to bed, relief on Aizawa's face.

As Kage headed to his dorm room, All might, in his skeletal form, came around the corner wanting to quickly check up on Kage. "Ah, Young Kage. I've been wanting to speak with you about how you're feeling about the whole situation." Kage looked surprised somebody would actually check up on him but quickly regained his ground. He could feel they were getting closer to his secret, even if they didn't have any suspicious thoughts of him even having one.

"Oh yeah, I'm doing fine. All the tension is making me feel a little bit weird but you get used to tension when you're a hero. It feels a bit weird with the Villains being so quiet recently but overall I think I'm fine." Damn. This boy was good at pretending. Kage flawlessly played out his act, hiding all uncertainty and fear under a big invisible cover.

"Alright my boy. As long as you're okay. Now go get some rest." He gently ruffled Kages hair like how a father would do to a son.

Kage headed to his room and noticed his phone on the bedside again, right where he left he when he went out for his almost-daily lessons. He picked up and decided to watch some show before bed, to get his mind off the whole current situation but as soon as he'd finished and wanted to get the rest he needed.

He got a text.

For Shigaraki.
