   Summary

   Thea is a familiar, freshly escaped from the deeply abusive mage who kidnapped her and bound her to him, damaging her mind and leaving her magically incapable of surviving without a mage bond in the process. She meets Cassidy, a mage looking for a friend and magical partner at a shelter for familiars in situations similar to Thea. Together, they grow as people and discover a deeper companionship than either of them have had before.

   This is a slow burn, and things will get homoerotic with some dom/sub adjacent dynamics before any outright sex happens. Magically binding minds and souls together is basically the same as freaky sex if you squint.
