Chapter Text

Chapter 1: "In the beginning"

It was a cold winter afternoon, and of course it had to start snowing when the holidays were already over and everyone had to go back to school.

That was another thing, Dess left for college. Noelle had almost forgotten how empty the house felt when Dess wasn't having people over all the time. She, of course, still talked to her regularly, (If Dess hadn't promised to text everyday not even goD himself could pry Noelle off of her.) and it's definitely better to have a sister that is away than no sister at all.

She couldn't thank Kris, Susie and Ralsei enough. If not for them Dess would still be missing. (and the end of the world would have happened, but who cares.)

Kris also started to hang out with her again, which was a very welcome change. At first she was kinda upset with them for dating Susie, but she got over it surprisingly quickly.

But there was someone else she would like to thank.

The Angel

She didn't really know who or what it is, or even if it understood what gratitude is, but she still wanted to express it. Unfortunately it was banished before she had a chance to talk to it.

Of course she didn't want to bring it back just to say "thanks" and kick of out again of course, she also wanted to get to know it. Maybe she could befriend it. But it was also terrifying, a literal god with the power to ruin your entire life if it gets bored, of course to her that was a plus. (Freak!)

She wondered if there was a way to let it back into this world. And she knew exactly who would know something like that. Noelle unlocked her phone, and started texting.

"Hey Catti"

"?"

"Can I come over"

"sure"

Perfect, she knew a lot about the occult, this should be in her area of expertise, right? Of course, she could've also asked Kris, but they probably wouldn't be very fond of the idea.

It wasn't long before the doe was knocking on Cattis door.

"Hey."

"Hiii!"—Noelle greeted ger friend cheerfully —"can I come in?"

"Yeah."

Noelle took of her jacket and followed Catti to her room.

"So, what do you want to do?"—the cat asked

"Well, you know a lot about magic, right?"—Noelle began.

"Yeah..."—Catti raised an eyebrow —"why?"

"I was wondering if you know any way to, uhm,"—She tried coming up with the right word—"un-banish the Angel"

"Absolutely not!"—Catti hissed —"are you crazy?"

"What? Why not?"

"What if it decides to kill you or something?"

"But, well... It was nice last time!"—Noelle argued —"And if it does something bad we can banish it again, right?"

"I guess so."

"So are you- gonna do it?"

For a long moment they sat in silence "It needs a vessel..."

"I can be it's vessel, right?"—Noelle asked

"..."—Catti paused —"are you sure you want to?"

"I think- I'm pretty sure."— the doe nodded her head, but a little bit of uncertainty crept into her voice. —"I mean what's the worst that could happen?"

"Fine." —Catti grumbled, she really didn't want to hurt Noelle—"sit down here."

Noelle did as instructed and Catti placed many diferent candles around her.

"Ready?"— Catti asked after double and triple sure everything is in place. Noelle gave her a shy nod.

As Catti whispered something in a language she didn't understand Noelle was becoming less and less certain this was a good idea.

It felt like the candles were staring to glow brighter.

Very, very bright.

So bright she couldn't look at them directly.

So bright she could still see the light when she closed her eyes.

So bright it hurt, even when she covered her eyes.

So bright she wasn't sure if there was anything but the light.

So bright she could feel the light surrounding her.

So bright that it's sheer force was pushing her very soul out of her body.

So bright she felt like she was dying.

So bright...

She saw the silhouette of a cat.
