Tech Savvy

Summary:

Clark has some technological problems and looks to you to fix them.

Notes:

This is based on a small, recent experience I had with some of my own documents. Even though I solved the problem myself, may you all have someone who can help get you out of a jam. Enjoy!
P.S. I DO NOT OWN SUPERMAN IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM!!!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Clark was screwed.

One second, he was trying to open some files for an upcoming story. The next thing he knew, those files were gone. He didn’t know how it happened, or what could be done to undo it. His eyes shifted back and forth, wanting to ask for help but not wanting to be judged for making such a mistake.

Suddenly, he caught sight of you, and his heart leapt from excitement rather than nerves. “Hey!” he called out, springing up from his chair. “Can I borrow you for a minute? I’m having computer problems again.”

You offered a sympathetic smile and promptly made yourself comfortable in his now-free chair. “What’s up?” you asked, taking in the screen in front of you.

“Uh, well, I hit something and now a couple of my files are missing. I can’t find them anywhere, not even in the recycling bin.”

“Okay then.” And with that, you got to work.

Clark grinned as you did your thing. You were so smart and sweet. The Daily Planet was lucky to have you as their tech whiz. Anytime anything went down – a computer, a phone, a TV, a printer – you came to the rescue with your know-how.

“Done!” you exclaimed. You motioned for Clark to move closer to you. “It seems like you accidentally hid the documents rather than deleted them. If it happens again, just…”

Clark turned to look at you and got distracted by the pretty features of your face and the sound of your voice rather than what you were actually saying. The man was absolutely smitten with you. Ever since you helped him reset his computer language from Portuguese to English, he knew you were something special. He asked you out for lunch that day and the rest was history.

Speaking of history, later that night, as you two were lounging on Clark’s couch waiting for your pizza to finish heating in the oven, he decided to play a little trick on you.

“Hey, hon?” he spoke up. Only when he saw your eyes pull away from your phone screen to meet his did he continue. “I accidentally closed a tab on my laptop. How can I get it back?”

You immediately scooted over to him to get a better look. Your fingers reached out to replace his on the keyboard and you spoke slowly as you went through the steps. “Go to the icon with three lines in the corner… click on this arrow clock thing right here… the tab your just closed should be the first thing listed.” You looked over to see if he was following along, and he was… with a big smile on his face. “But you already knew that.”

“Yeah.”

“Why you little…!” You swiftly shut his laptop and moved it to the side so it couldn’t block your attempt to straddle him. Once you had him trapped, you began tickling him.

“I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” Clark wheezed out as he blocked your attacks. “I can’t help that I love it when you show off like that!”

You blushed, finally letting up. “Stop it.”

“No, I’m serious.” Clark’s arms brought you closer with a big hug. “I love how smart you are. Like earlier today. I was so scared that I lost those files for my story and then you swooped in and saved me. The only difference between now and then is that now I get to show you my appreciation properly with hugs… and kisses…”

You two naturally moved closer to each other. Your lips were centimeters apart when the timer in the kitchen went off.

“And food,” Clark finished.

Instead of following through with the kiss, however, he grabbed underneath your thighs and lifted you up from the couch. Your arms instinctively wrapped around his neck and you squealed in shock. Said shock was quickly replaced by giggles and moans as you finally kissed Clark on your way to dinner. Any other technological problems would have to be dealt with later.
