Season of Memories

Summary:

"Because I know you! Better than you know yourself, better than that fake wife of yours know you!"

Bagi got up with a jump, still refusing to lift her eyes, and walked to the place where the voice came from.

"Who the hell are you?"

Or

Bagi has a vision while in prison

Work Text:

93… 94… 95… 95 lines formed the left wall of her cell, perfectly straight lines that didn't move doesn't matter how hard Bagi punched them.

Her knuckles were stained with dried blood as she looked at her hands, the wall had barely cracked, the 95 lines stayed intact.

"Still not tired of punching walls irmãzinha?"

That voice, that voice that Bagi hadn't been able to get rid off since she woke up in Montalma, it was a voice she didn't recognize who took a form she didn't recognize but it made her heart ache all the same

"Shut up"

She could feel the person (image?) Moving around the cell and Bagi did her best to not look at his face, as long as she didn't let their eyes meet it would be ok.

"I never thought you had what it takes, you know? You were so adamant about making me stop murdering those workers and now look at you!"

Bagi's eyes were trained to look at the floor, which had 60 straight lines and 1 single cracked tile, she made the mistake of looking into his eyes once, it made her sick the whole day.

"Why the hell do you keep talking like you know me?"

The thing laughed! Laughed like that was the best joke he had ever heard in his entire life, his laugh set a strange feeling in her almost like… nostalgia?

"Because I know you! Better than you know yourself, better than that fake wife of yours know you!"

Bagi got up with a jump, still refusing to lift her eyes, and walked to the place where the voice came from.

"Who the hell are you?"

She could practically hear the smirk in his voice as he talked, his voice loud, not quite a shout but very far from a whisper as well, Bagi could tell he was excited.

"Ha! That's right! You're here living thiss fake life, with these fake people, I'm not like them Bagi, I'm real! I'm your real brother!"

That was the thing that made Bagi look up finally and all she saw was a face that looked exactly like hers, the same blue eyes, the same nose and even the same way his mouth curled when he smiled was like hers, it was looking into a mirror. The only difference was the hair, while Bagi's was long and white, although a bit mated and tangled due to the time in jail, it was still the same white shade from always but him? His hair was mostly brown, just as tangled as hers, he had glasses similar to the ones she would see Nofaxu wearing sometimes on top of his head and hen a single white streak falling onto his face, the same shade of white Bagi's hair was.

"I only have one brother and you're not him"

The figure, her brother?, had a mocking smile on his face, his hands stuffed into the pocket of his dirty jeans, he seemed to be messing with something inside it while talking.

"Aha! That fucking fish? Really Bagi? You were so set into findin me just some years ago and now you basically throw me away? I'm hurt, really."

Looking for him? She… It was clearly something she was doing before chaos, before… Valigma even, the Bagi she couldn't remember, the one that sometimes felt like a ghost haunting her.

"Ironic isn't it? I was the one who didn't remember you back then and now you're the one with no memories."

Bagi looked at him, really looked at him this time, she noticed bags under his eyes, a ring on his finger, blood under his fingernails that mirrored the blood she had under her fingernails.

It felt like looking at a mirror, a cracked mirror showing memories that weren't even hers.

"You're not real."

She could see him rolling his eyes, another thing that made them similar.

"Nothing in your life is real Bagi, when are you going to accept that?"

Bagi hated him, she wanted to kill him, the same way she killed Hugo, she wanted to see him bleed but she couldn't, he was nothing but a fading image.

When she looked again, he was gone and Bagi was just left with an ache in her heart she couldn't explain.
