Work Text:
Claudia had this adorable, if sometimes annoying, habit of staying up late. Past when the sun was up, past when they should both have already sealed themselves away in their coffin. So often, Madeleine was already asleep by the time Claudia lifted the lid and lowered herself in. Usually, Madeleine woke when she did that, just enough to murmur sleepily to her and wrap her up in her arms.
When she'd asked, Claudia had told her that it was the best time to think. She liked to sit just out of the sunlight, with the curtains opened enough for her to watch the birds waking up and the sun rise over the mountains in the distance, listening to the human world waking up. Madeleine didn't understand it, but maybe she didn't need to. It made Claudia happy.
Today, though, was different. Madeleine had said bonne nuit to her wife before the sun came up (old habits died hard), and gone and changed into her nightgown, and laid down to wait. She listened as the birds began their songs, and if she concentrated, she could hear Claudia writing. That enhanced hearing, unfortunately, meant Madeleine had to lay very still and stay very quiet if she wanted to pull this off. Which meant the next half hour or so was extremely boring.
She nearly dozed off by the time she heard the door to their room open up. Claudia's footsteps were quiet as she entered and changed into her own nightgown, and then, predictably, opened the lid of the coffin. Madeleine stayed still, feigning sleep, until Claudia was tucked right up against her. Then, she struck.
Winding her arms tightly around her wife's middle, she started with sleepy seeming kisses to her neck and collarbones. Claudia hummed, melting into her touch easily. Sometimes, she was so easy to fool. All it took was a little cleverness and a few extra kisses. She contined her path, grazing Claudia's skin with her fangs while her wife relaxed and snuggled into her. Once Madeleine was sure that she had her lulled into a false sense of security, she started to tickle her.
Claudia started squirming immediately, but just as planned, she was trapped within the walls of their shared coffin. "Hey! Maddie! Quit that!" she protested, trying to catch Madeleine's hands with her own.
"Oh, but you're so ticklish, ma puce. I had no idea!" Claudia's laughter was contagious. Madeleine always said her smile lit up the room, and her laughter was even more powerful. She was so bright and happy sounding, even when she was laughing against her will. "It's very cute!" she teased, a huge grin on her face. Claudia's thrashing made it difficult to lay comfortably, so to help keep her still, Madeleine hooked a leg up and over both of her wife's legs.
It was obvious that the laughter made it difficult for Claudia to speak, but she still managed to force a few words out. "Should've told Louis not to turn you!"
Madeleine scoffed, slowing her fingers. "Oui? You would have changed your mind so easily if you knew?"
"Yes!" Claudia gasped out, and she must have decided to take advantage of the momentary reprieve, because only a moment later her fangs pierced Madeleine's skin.
With fangs in her skin, Madeleine was forced to stop lest her skin get torn. She would heal, of course, but the pain wouldn't be pleasant. "Oh, is this too much for you? You'd rather spend all of your very long eternity alone than—"
"Than be tortured by you? Yeah," Claudia huffed, all indignance. She scowled up at Madeleine, with just a trickle of blood dripping from the corner of her mouth. "I thought you loved me."
"Hm. I wonder where you would have ever gotten that idea," she mused, leaning down to lick the blood away in spite of Claudia's playful growl. She would have continued teasing, but her mouth was claimed in a kiss before she could. She could taste her own blood on Claudia's mouth still, just the faintest metallic tang and a subtle sweetness she'd never noticed before becoming a vampire. She deepened the kiss, opening her mouth. When Claudia's mouth opened in silent answer, Madeleine teased one of her fangs with her tongue.
"Keep it up, and I might have to eat you," Claudia warned when their mouths parted. Her hands were busy working their way under Madeleine's nightgown, skating along her skin in search of her curves.
Madeleine could feel sleep tugging at her eyes, but she ignored it in favor of watching her wife feel her up. She arched her back, leaning into the touch "I wish you would, ma puce. You know how much I like it when you bite me. Used to dream about it after I saw your fangs the first time. I'd slide my hand down between my legs and—"
"Aren't you supposed to be asleep? You're the one always goin' to coffin early, what's this ambush shit about? Huh?"
She laughed, but the sound was stretched and warped by her yawn. "I thought we could have a little fun, that's all. Where do we have to be tomorrow?"
"Nowhere," Claudia said with satisfaction, her smug smile only growing when her hands found the soft flesh of Madeleine's breasts. "Nowhere but here."
