Chapter Text
The night was deep and dark, covering the town with its big unescapable embrace. By this time most Inphernals were asleep in the comfort of their homes, blissfully ignorant to the danger that plagued the town every night.
Seraphlaser however wasn't part of these inphernals and instead he was aggressively sketching the problem that affected this village on a constant basis-a vampire.
No one knew why he had chosen this exact place to torment, but no matter the reason, it was a fact that every week there will be at least 1 or 2 inphernals gone missing or found dead. No one even doubted it was the vampire's doing as most dead bodies were found with 2 dots on their neck, a clear mark from the unholy creature's sharp teeth.
So the town has hired him, a proclaimed Vampire hunter, to cleanse this town of that pest once and for all, rid it of this problem. However the first few months since coming here, no traces were to be found.
The vampire he was dealing with clearly wasn't dumb nor new. He was old, experienced and very, very hungry. He didn't leave any marks aside from the red dots and it looked as if he sucked the entire body worth of blood. Who was barbaric enough to do that?
The town didn't even know his name, so they offered referred to him as just "The Vampire", with a lot of people adding their own spin to the mix, often derogatory . Either way, he was hard to find, most likely blending with the shadows and becoming one with the darkness. He was also hard to track, but Seraphlaser had finally seen him, after so many months. He had finally gazed at what he was even dealing with. It wasn't far off from what he expected. A typical white pale-skin vampire with a dark cloak and some tints of red here and there. What set him apart from others of his kind were the 2 pairs of bright red horns, along with the red cross floating in between the bigger pair on top of his head, along with the eyepatch adorned across his left eye, a rose plastered right where it's supposed to be.
Seraphlaser tried to draw him to the best of his abilities, his memory serving him all the details he needed. He does not know what exactly happened, but he had seen him.
All he knew was that he was just going back from a friend and got mogged on the way by some stupid muggers. He would have easily defeated them, but he wasn't carrying any weapons and his 5 assaulters were wielding all sorts of knives and guns, screaming death threats. He was just about to give them what little money at the cost of his dignity, when a bat-shaped shadow fell on them. Before they could even look up a dark creature was in between them and in a fast flutter of motions 4 of them were on the ground, either dead or unconscious.
The 5th inphernal had started running away, but, as if moving with supernatural speed, the vampire quickly caught them as well, crouching beside their dead body and feasting. But before he could finish, Seraphlaser had yelled at him, quickly running to catch him, even if he knew he couldn't kill him.
The vampire turned around and when he saw the angel run towards him, he quickly got up and hid behind a corner. Seraphlaser had followed, his legs carrying him as fast as they could. When he had stumbled upon a dead end, he looked up, only to see 1 red eye staring back at him. He quickly flew there, but he was too late. All he could see was a bat flying away. Even if he did catch up to him, there was simply nothing he could have done to catch him, nonetheless kill him. But he at least got to see what he looked like. After so much mystery, the vampire had finally revealed himself.
And now here he was, sketching what he could remember from him and detailing out his abilities. Most vampires he hunted were either halflings or fresh vampires that haven't unlocked their whole arsenal yet. They were easy to kill. But he had a feeling this pest was different. He displayed signs of supernatural speed and transformation... and only for now. He probably also had bigger strength, seeing as how he took all 4 down on his own in a matter of seconds...
Bur while he was sketching, Seraphlaser couldn't help but ask himself- why had the vampire saved him? Maybe it was just a coincidence? But the vampire explicitly looked at him, 1 red eye coming in contact with 3, as if to say "You are welcome." But did he know Seraphlaser's entire purpose of being here is solely to murder him? If so, why had he saved him?
Seraphlaser did not know. This was too confusing for him. Never in his career had this happened to him. He shook his head a little and stood up, going to grab his coat. He needed fresh air before he went crazy. This would be a good chance to see if he can find the vampire again. This time, he got all his weapons, most important of all- the stake. He also got some garlic and silver chains foe good measure, as well as some small knives. Vampires especially hated silver, seeing as it greatly subsided their healing and made their skins burn. Seraphlaser would need that if he had to kill the pest he was dealing with. Had to? No, he needed to kill, it was a must that he kills him...
So he got out of his humble and small house and onto the main street. The shining moon and stars cast their silver shine at the empty street. Maybe the vampire wouldn't have anyone to feast on this night, so he would already be weakened. Seraphlaser hoped so. He held a strong grip on the wooden stake as he got around to the smaller streets, those who had dead ends all over them. Here is where the vampire would be hiding, if he was here.
Seraphlaser kept taking turns, lost in thought, until he saw red on the ground. He crouched and touched it, coming to the fast conclusion it was small splatters of blood. It was fresh. Had the vampire found another victim? Seraphlaser quickly followed the trail, running. It led him to a turn, which he took. What he saw wasn't what he expected at all...
The vampire was laying on the ground with a big metal spear lodged into his side, deep enough to have the entire head of the spear in him. It wasn't silver, but it nonetheless hurt him, seeing as he was clearly in pain, tense in every muscle, eye shut, holding the spear with two arms. He had probably been in too much pain to even move, which would explain why he was just sitting duck. His cloak was sprawled on the ground, bloodied. When Seraphlaser showed up, he turned to him to him, opening his red eye to stare directly at the angel's eyes. It was as if Seraphlaser was looking at a terrified deer.
He was quite amazed, yet befuddled. Here he was, preparing himself to fight a gruesome and tiring battle, but the vampire had basically been served on a golden platter for him to slay. He had gotten really lucky. However he couldn't shake the feeling that this was somehow a lie... But the longer he stared at the sprawled creature on the floor, the better he reassured himself that this was very much real. How had he ended up like this? Who had done this? No one was around.
The angel quickly, but carefully traversed the distance between them, wooden stake firmly held in hand. The vampire kept staring at him, observing his every move, watching as Seraphlaser raised the wooden stake, ready to strike him right in the chest, in the heart. The vampire looked away, shutting his eye yet again...
But the blow never came...
He stood there. He didn't know why he hadn't killed him yet. The vampire turned to look at him again, frozen, waiting for his imminent doom. Seraphlaser just needed to bring it down with enough force. He couldn't.
He had killed countless of vampires before, seen many terrified faces, heard many screams, pleas, cries. His wooden stake has been the end of many, many undead lives. So why was he struggling so much to add another to the mix?! His hands shook above him and he dropped them, stake still in his hand. He put it back in his belt and crouched in front of the unholy creature, hands hovering over him.
The vampire looked... satisfied in a way. As if he had expected this. However he masked it well enough so that to Seraphlaser it seemed as if he was just curious. He brought his hand up, but Seraphlaser quickly grabbed it and pinned it to the floor, afraid the vampire would have tried doing something.
Maybe... maybe Seraphlaser could just grab him and take him home. Study him so that he could gain more knowledge and then he will kill him! He just wasn't ready yet. How could he kill such a specimen when he could learn so much from him. Surely that's why he hesitated to kill him. So he brought out his silver chains and when the vampire saw them, he hissed, standing up to get away. But Seraphlaser grabbed the spear lodged into his side, making him stop moving and groan in pain, becoming deathly still. Seraphlaser was well aware he needed blood to heal himself. As long as the angel kept him away from blood, he would be weak enough to not try anything stupid.
Seraphlaser quickly wrapped the chains around him with surprisingly little protest from the vampire, tightening them more than he needed. The vampire hissed, wanting to squirm away, but the spear kept him in place. The feeling of silver around him was agonizing, burning.
The angel knew silver chains wouldn't kill him, they would only further weaken him.
"I would suggest you stay quiet, unless you want garlic shoved up your mouth." - He threatened, receiving a glare from the vampire, but seeing as he had no choice, he obliged. He was already weak enough as he is, he didn't need that smelly thing near him.
Seraphlaser snaked 2 arms underneath the vampire's body and brought him up, carrying him bridal style, noting how light he was. He then remembered his kind didn't really like food in general, their diets consisting of only blood, so it made sense they would weight flesh and bones. He would have just slung him over his shoulder, but that would only make the vampire complain about the pain and Seraphlaser didn't want to deal with that.
He tried not looking at him, avoiding all contact. Meanwhile the vampire was looking at him for the duration of their entire walk, making notice of all his features. He was in a lot of pain, but he kept silent, only wincing when the spear in his side jostled too much.
And after many turns, Seraphlaser making sure no one saw them, they were in front if his humble abode. The sun had started to show, painting the sky a black-ish purple.
The angel put the vampire down on the cold ground to get his keys and unlocked the door, grabbing him again, this time by the horns, and going inside. The vampire found that pretty mean, but he didn't comment, too overcome by the pain to say anything. However he took notice of the house his captor called a home.
It was small...it only consisted of a kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom. Nothing like his own mansion, which he sadly wouldn't be visiting for presumably a long time. It was decorated with all sorts of trinkets, however what intrigued him most were the various weapons hanging on a wall the angel had against his kind. It sent shivers down his spine, seeing countless silver weapons, wooden stakes, garlic, even torches. This guy was a lunatic, he thought. Where had he ended up...
Seraphlaser dumped him on the couch, making the vampire hiss in pain, who finally spoke, tired of being treated like dirt:
"A little more careful now, would you?!" - He spoke, his side still throbbing in pain. Seraphlaser turned around to face him, seemingly taken aback by the voice he possessed. Deep, scratchy, hoarse. He quickly got over his surprise, reminded that vampires could, in fact, speak.
"Listen here, you pest. Keep that bloodsucking mouth of yours shut, unless you want to die. I preferred when you didn't speak"- He threatened, toying with the wooden stake in his hand. The vampire just chuckled, unfazed. He had heard many death threats directed at him throughout his existence. So much he had started ranking them. This one was a 3/10. Some originality, but not really threatening...
"You could have killed me a dozen times by now, you didn't. You have made your intentions cleA- MMMF!?" -He squirmed as Seraphlaser forced garlic into his mouth. Now this was a much better threat, however that thought quickly disappeared from his mind as the taste really set in. Sfoth, how he hated garlic.
He quickly let go and the vampire spitted it out with such disgust he visibly shivered from the bad taste, coughing all the while, trying anything to shake off the taste.
"Next time you speak I won't leave it for only 2 seconds." - He said, going to the bathroom. The vampire just lay there on the couch, still getting over the bad taste in his mouth. He sighed, letting his head fall against the couch's arm stand. It wasn't even comfortable.
However so far he could say he was quite successful. The angel hadn't killed him. Sure, he made him suffer, but after all, he was scared. Who wouldn't be? He had gained quite a reputation for himself. He did not truly know why he had fallen in love with the angel. From the moment he gazed at him, he found something alluring in him. Something beautiful and wild. And so he had persued him. And he had finally caught him in his grasp.
He let the angel think he is vulnerable, weak. And sure, having a spear lodged into his side along with chains which bit at his body wasn't very nice, but if he kept things under control he would get his way. And he always does, that's the reason he has lived so many years and killed many so proclaimed "vampire hunters". He laughed at them. Inphernals were so scared of him and his kind they "trained" people to kill them specifically. Pathetic.
Seraphlaser appeared from the bathroom, carrying gauze. He set it down and crouched next to the couch, in front of the vampire.
"If you want to live, I would suggest you be as cooperative as possible. I shouldn't even help you, yet here I am. So I am asking for you to return the favor." - the vampire just chuckled at him.
"How kind of you! However you do know you don't have to do all of that. Just 1 small bite and I'm all healed~"
"I'm not falling for this, pest-"
"The name's Exorspace. Get rid of that name calling now will you? Frankly it's quite annoying, though I've heard worse-"
"What part of "Shut up" do you not understand?! Do I have to make you squirm in pain every single time to just shit you up?!" - He asked, grabbing a hold of the spear to prove his point. That seemed to work, as Exorspace didn't say anything, only glaring at him, his playful smirk gone.
"I'm gonna untie you so I can do my work. Don't think about doing anything stupid. It won't get you anywhere. " - He warned, slowly loosening up the chains and freeing the vampire from their hold. Exorspace wouldn't admit it, but he felt really better when he didn't have silver burning him. He questioned whether or not he should push his luck and fight the angel, knowing full well he would lose, seeing as he enjoyed pestering the hunter. However he decided to just keep quiet, in the small chance he pushed all the angel's buttons and angered him enough to kill him.
Seraphlaser grabbed the spear and without any warning, he yanked it out, making Exorspace scream in pain, his arms immediately grabbing Seraphlaser's arms, his sharp claws almost scratching him. The angel put a hand over his mouth, so the scream came out muffled, holding the bloodied spear in one hand, whilst the vampire's hands kept digging in his arm.
"Quiet! You don't want to wake up the inphernals now would you?! If they check this house we are both dead! I should have just killed you." - Seraphlaser whispered at him and removed his hand. Exorspace barely held himself not to comeback with a sassy retort, which wouldn't have worked out anyways, seeing as he was breathing way too fast, and frankly, he was too overcome by the pain to really think of anything witty.
"But you didn't." - He breathed out in the end, eye still completely shut from the pain in his side. He grabbed it with one arm, hoping to negate all the pain, feeling his hand quickly stain red. Sfoths... Seraphlaser didn't bat an eye, he just put the spear up against the wall near, noticing the bloodied metal. Definitely not silver. If it was, he was fairly certain the vampire would have perished by now.
"No. I didn't." - Seraphlaser answered, defeated in a way. He went back and crouched in front of the couch again, removing Exorspace's hand from his side and quickly untying the bloody corset the vampire was wearing and throwing it on the ground with little to no regard. Afterwards he lifted the shirt underneath up, revealing the nasty wound that had formed on the vampire's side. It was deep and now it was fully oozing blood, though at a slower rate than normal inphernals. Seraphlaser would have gagged at the sight, had he already not been accustomed to wounds like these.
Still, it didn't get any easier. He couldn't imagine the pain the vampire was undergoing right now, even if deserved. But then again, why was he showing sympathy for the unholiest of creatures. He did not know, but he sure as hell won't let anyone bleed out like that, even if it's him. He took a look again, studying it.
Exorspace tried to sit up and see for himself, but the angel harshly pushed him down, keeping one arm on his chest while he inspected the stab wound with another. Even if he did want to help, his first and most important reason was studying these creatures, so that he could better deal with them next time.
"The blood is darker...interesting." -he noted out loud. He had already had his suspicions, but up close they were proven right. This would prove really well in letting him differentiate vampire blood from normal inphernal blood. It would certainly make his job easier in tracking these pests down. However Exorspace, already irritated from being prodded at like some animal, decided to annoy him:
"Do you understand this just now? Iv'e seen less experienced so proclaimed "vampire-hunters" do their homework bett-ER! -He hissed through his teeth as Seraphlaser kept prodding it, specifically pressing deep in the middle to quiet him down, not caring about his pain anymore. It had the opposite effect, however:
"Will you just get to it?!?" - He asked, bewildered. He wasn't some sort of guinea pig! Maybe this was a bad idea, Exorspace should have just never messed with him and just killed him. Either way there was no escape now...not yet at least.
Without a word, Seraphlaser grabbed the gauze and quickly wrapped his lower torso in it, forcing him to sit up a little. He probably should have put some antiseptic cream first, but he didn't really give a damn... maybe he did, just a little, feeling some faint speckle of guilt creep inside him at the thought this will get infected... it didn't look like a fun thing to deal with, if it did. He forced that thought away.
"The wound won't truly heal unless I receive sustenance-"
"No. I won't give you blood, vampire. I frankly do not care if you die or not, I just took you in to ask some questions. After that I'm gonna kill you."
"Are you reassuring me or yourself? You could have just asked me those questions while I still had that spear in me. Also I have a name for a reason, you know..."
"I did not want to hear you any more than necessary, which also includes grunts of pain. I simply did it for my own comfort. I also do not want blood on my couch, however it seems its too late for that now..."
"Right. I'd suggest you also give me some blood then, so that I stop whining about it! This way you can limit my voice to a minimum, I promise!" - He snickered, smiling at him. Seraphlaser did not find it very funny.
"If you answer all my questions I will consider whether or not I should give you rabbit blood."
"Real funny! Animal blood tastes bad. Inphernal blood is where it's all at!"
Seraphlaser grabbed him by the collar and brought him next to his face. Had he actually felt bad for him? Exorspace just grinned at him, enjoying the anger in Seraphlaser's eyes. That was until he heard the rattle of chains yet again. He tried to escape, kicking the angel in the stomach, sending him flying on the couch, granting him freedom.
He got up from the couch and ran towards the door, ignoring the massive amounts of pain in his side, only to find with horror it was locked. When had the angel locked it?! Normally that wouldn't be an issue, he could just break the door down, bur not when he had no fuel! His gaze fell on the window, but before he could run to it, the cold and than burning feeling of metal around his torso consumed him.
"Damn it!" - He said, shivering at the silver chains that wrapped around his torso, tighter than before. Seraphlaser placed a hand on his neck and forced him to move back to the couch.
"You are staying here." - He said in a tone that left no room for argument, pushing him on the couch.
"You don't genuinely intend to keep me here forever..."
"You are right. I'm gonna put you out of your miserable life soon enough."- Seraphlaser lowered down to his level and looked him straight in the eye, his own eyes piercing, threatening. -"And if you try that again, I'm gonna make sure the last days of your life are as painful as possible."
Exorspace stared at him, pretending to be all scared and terrified. He had to act a certain way, if he wanted to control the situation. So he did, his eye was wide open, brow furrowed. He should have become an actor once in his lifetime, maybe it would have brought him some fame and goodies...
Right now Seraphlaser thought he was in control. Thought he had the upper hand, thought he was stronger and smarter. Exorspace let him think that way. For now he had to lay low if he wanted for this all to workout. Just a bit more...
Seraphlaser went back to his room, bur before he disappeared, he turned around and leaned on the door frame, crossing his arms.
"I am going to go sleep. If you do escape, I swear to the Sfoths, I'm going to find you. And it's not gonna be beautiful."- He lied. He did not really need sleep but the vampire didn't need to know that.
Exorspace mentally rolled his eye. How much death threats dies that angel think were necessary before they just became fake promises? However he decided not to poke him further. Before the angel could disappear into his quarters, he spoke:
"I never caught your name?" - He asked, forming his sentence like a question. The angel just turned to look at him, dumbfounded. Exorspace just grinned at that:
"What? I think I at least should have the privilege of knowing who kidnapped me."
"... it's Seraphlaser...Exorspace. Seraphlaser." - He repeated, before going inside his bedroom.
Exorspace stared dumbfounded. Who knew he remembered his name. It sounded so well when uttered by his voice...
Oh what was he doing? Had he seriously fallen in love so much he let himself be kidnapped and weakened? By the inphernal he fell in love with, nonetheless.
But Exorspace was getting bored. He had lived for a millennia, he has had many love interests, but of course, none of them were forever. He had grieved like crazy the first time. He could still vividly remember his first lover- a beautiful gothic inphernal, whom had made butterflies fly in his stomach every time he even thought about her. Truly, she was beautiful... but she had died of sickness... He had been there as she released her final breath, holding her hand and guarding her, tears rolling down his eyes.
Back when he still had 2 eyes. He lost one when he had an affair with another lover. He couldn't even keep track with all of them, but they had gotten into an argument and Exorspace had received the short stick at the end of it all, leaving him with burn marks on his face, whole right arm and part of his chest.
He had almost died, but his next lover had saved him and nurtured him back to health. They had let him feast on them, letting him heal... they died 3 years later...
Exorspace mourned and grieved for almost every single death of a lover, but at some point he just got tired to grieve. So he hadn't had an affair in a long time. He did not know why Seraphlaser has caught his interest. He had made the butterflies in his stomach as strong as his first love. There was something special about him... so Exorspace wanted to try and make him call him his lover. He wanted to love and be loved.
So far things weren't going well...but they weren't going bad as well. He had a small feeling that deep down, the angel liked him too. He was just too afraid to show it, to taint his reputation in the village as the good hero, who wanted to slay the big bad vampire. Maybe Exorspace was just too blinded by love to interpret it correctly, but if he wasn't mistaken, Seraphlaser was a pretty darn good vampire slayer. He didn't play around, he acted. Fast, with precision. But he hadn't killed him... And Exorspace didn't really think of him as someone who would prolong suffering, even if he made a lot of threats about it...
Exorspace released a sigh he did not realize he was holding and closed his eye. The sun was starting to show up and he was feeling tired. So he just let sleep grasp him. The couch wasn't comfortable at all and having to sleep with silver chains restating him was also not ideal, but he had to manage with what he had. His side kept throbbing, the pain a constant reminder of the wound, but his mind slowly pushed that thought back. Soon enough, he was dead to the world, his breathing slowing and evening out.
He needed strength if he wanted to deal with tomorrow.
In the bedroom however, Seraphlaser was overrun by thoughts in his bed, constantly rotating and making his wings even more ruffled. Why had he not killed him? Why had he brought him to his house, and most importantly, treated his wound. He could have just let him suffer and dwell in his own misery, but he had helped him. Stupid, he was!
He did not understand. He kept repeating that it was just because Exorspace was probably old and wise. He most likely had dozens of years and will really expand the inpherno's whole knowledge on his kind. Surely that's why he kept him. There was no other reason. There musn't be. And simply letting someone have a whole ass spear in them wasn't his way of doings things. Even if that someone was as dangerous as him...
Yet he still couldn't fall asleep, even if he was tired. So he just slowly got up from the bed and quietly went to the living groom. As expected, the vampire was sleeping on the couch, admittedly not in the most comfortable position...
Seraphlaser draped the curtains over all the windows, not wanting the sun to disturb his sleep. Why was he doing that again? He did not know! Sfoths, Seraphlaser just needed to kill him... this was way too confusing. What use would he have if his captive burnt alive to death? Yea, this is why he did it! Maybe it was just himself making this all weird, when in reality he was doing the most rational things one could do.
He turned to look at the vampire again, watching as he breathed, his chest falling down, them raising up and then down again. He looked...peaceful... If Seraphlaser didn't know this was the pest that had murdered so many inphernals, he would have called him cute...
Sfoths what was Seraphlaser thinking. No, no, he needed to get Exorspace out of his head... Exorspace? Why had he bothered learning his name? He would kill him anyways...
Seraphlaser released a strained sigh and went back to the bedroom, closing of all the curtains as well and laying back on his bed. However his head got too loud again so instead he went to the living room to keep vigil. He did not want for the vampire to escape after all. Sfoths... the spear was right there. Just one stab in the heart and all his problems will be solved...
When Exorspace opened his eye, he was immediately met with 3 staring at him. He felt the pain from his side shoot up his entire body immediately, making him contort his face in pain, but he quickly got over that, staring back at the angel. The pain was still there, ever-present, gnawing at him, but he had to manage.
"Ready to answer questions?" - Seraphlaser asked, holding a pen and paper, seemingly unfazed by the pains the vampire was experiencing. Exorspace only scoffed.
"Good morning to you too, Seraphlaser." - He greeted him with a bite in his tone. The angel, it seemed, wasn't in the mood for greetings. He felt stiff so he stretched his back, immediately regretting that as the pain shot up his side once again. Hell. Was Seraphlaser so heartless to not even give him an ounce of painkillers? Does he know the pain of having had literal metal tear your flesh apart and stick itself in? If Exorspace was on his place he would have at least given his captive some sort of painkillers... ok he would have just killed them instead, but that's not the point!
"How much feedings do you need in a month?" - Seraphlaser asked, clearly not wanting to have small talk. Exorspace rolled his eye.
"Now why would I tell you anything when you have treated me so poorly?...that's now how you treat a guest." - he said in an exasperating tone. He was in the mood of pushing buttons, like always. He found it funny, how the angel got angered so easily.
"Just answer the sfothdamn question!" - Seraphlaser ordered with a harsh tone. Exorspace just chuckled at that.
"My, my, angry aren't we? ... Make me." - He grinned, his fangs at full display. He knew he was playing a dangerous game, but if Seraphlaser wouldn't make it interesting, then he would.
"I don't think you understand the position you ae in right now, so let me spell it out for you, since apparently you are dumber than I thought. You are my prisoner, not my guest. You have no right to ask me of anything. And most importantly, you must do as I say, so you can guarantee yourself a painless death."- Seraphlaser was so close to Exorspsce's face, the vampire was sure that if he had no helmet, he would be able to feel the angel breathe. He was staring him down with such furiosity, the vampire actually felt a speckle of fear...only a little.
"OK. And let me remind you, that I am not the most dangerous of my kind for no reason." - before Seraphlaser could process his words, Exorspace rammed his head into Seraphlaser's chest, his horns poking the angel, sending him back and making him lose his balance. Before he could regain his posture, the vampire was already off the couch, running as farthest from the angel as he could. His side exploded in pain, but he ignored it, the adrenaline quickly kicking in to aid him, making him forget about the injury.
He couldn't do a lot with his arms tied behind his back, but he had to manage with what he had. He noticed the knife on the counter and bent down to bite down on the handle with his teeth, holding it with his mouth. He charged at the angel, who barely had time to react before he felt something sharp slice his bicep, going through the cloth and making skin visible. Blood quickly started oozing. He grunted in pain, quickly summoning his hyperlaser.
He shot at the vampire, who quickly dodged and charged again. But this time the angel was prepared. He desummoned his gear and grabbed the vampire by his upper horns, making him lose his velocity and crash into him. Right as he was about to slam him on the ground, he felt something slimy where the cut on his bicep was. He looked down only to see in horror that the vampire was ... licking his wound...
"YOU REPULSIVE, DISGUSTING SCUM!!" - he screamed in both disgust and fury, holding him by the horns and spinning him around before slamming him into the wall with so much force he was pretty sure Exorspace cracked 1 or 2 ribs as well as lost the grip on the knife he had in his mouth. He didn't seem phased though... in fact he seemed... satisfied.
And then Seraphlaser realized... he had gotten fuel. Granted it was only 5-6 drops or blood, but he had gotten fuel nonetheless. And Exorspace knew that as well. His eye glinted red and he smiled. His wound already felt better. He coulnd't fully heal due to the chains still tight around him, but he would take care of that soon enough.
And in that moment Seraphlaser has never felt so terrified... he summoned his gear again and fired, but the vampire dodged, moving just enough do that the shot disintegrated his chains, which clanked on the floor. He was now free, finally. He stretched, happy to have his whole body under his control again. He quickly ran to the open window, but he felt a hand grab his calf and yank him back in, slamming him on the ground, but before he could pin him, he transformed into a bat, flying out of the window.
The angel immediately turned to chase after him, his wings gracefully flapping as he started picking up speed, catching up to him. Those 2 pairs of wings surely helped. Shit... Exorspace didn't have enough fuel to last his bat form long. He needed to lose him and fast. He dodged a few shots from the gun , but he was losing fuel quickly...
A shot blasted and hit him right on his wing, making him transform into his normal form again and free fall with smoke going up from his body and his battered cloak enveloping him whole. Of course, before he could plumet to the ground the angel caught him by the leg. He tried to keep him as far away from himself as possible, but the vampire was unresiliant, latching onto his legs with both hands and trying to go up his body, no doubt to try and feed off him again. Seraphlaser tried shaking him off, doing fast spins in the air which left even him desorianted, but he still flew hands on his back. He tried grabbing his cloak with his hand, but this was a crucial mistake.
Exorspace immediately latched into his hand and bit down, his fangs going through the cloth and reaching the skin. Seraphlaser grunted in pain and grabbed one of the vampire's horns with one hand and pushed him away. He let up, but he had gotten what he needed. Seraphlaser tried locking him in a tight grip, but he felt the vampire disintegrate in his arms, turning into a bat yet again. However he was prepared. Right as the bat started gaining speed to fly off, he caught up to it and enveloped it whole with both his hands, holding tight even as the claws on it's wings scratched his palms. He felt it squirm in his grasp, tiny fangs grazing his hands. Exorspace couldn't transform. Not when he was stuck like this. The angel grabbed its wings and held them, making sure it can't fly away.
Exorspace may be the best of his kind, but so is Seraphlaser... the creature seemingly gave up, surrendering to it's fate. Seraphlaser could have just squished it right there , Sfoths it was tiny. He decided not to... he was far too angry to grant such a swift death. He needed to be careful. One wrong move and he would be free. Seraphlaser needed to think... he could hear the little heartbeat from the creature in his hands... sfoths he needed to kill him. He doesn't know how many times he has said that, but he really meant it now...
His heart was still pounding from the chase and he could hear the same for the vampire. He could hear the blood rush in his ears as he took a deep breath, securing his hold even more. He was taking no chances.
"All of this wasn't necessary. You could have just answered my questions. You can't escape this. You can't escape me. Not now when I can finally rid this town of it's problem." - He said, feeling the thing squirm in his hands yet again. How would he deal with him, he did not know. It was obvious he couldn't kill him. Especially not now when he was so... vulnerable. It didn't feel fair. Seraphlaser didn't want to stoop down to the level of those he hunted...
While Seraphlaser was thinking, he was slowly heading back to the his small house, his wings flapping as he slowly took a dive, still keeping a strong grip on Exorspace, who had started squirming in his grasp again. He did not like being held in tight spaces. The vampire, in all honesty, didn't expect how this turned out. And he definitely did not expect to be stuck in his bat form like this. It was embarrassing, infuriating. He hated how stiff he felt. He also hated the fact it was all dark. Don't get him wrong, he loved darkness. But not when he couldn't see anything! For the first time since encountering the angel, he actually felt scared. What would he do to him? He had played the game too dangerously and it seemed the angel was tired of him.
Exorsapce thrashed in his hold, his teeth trying to bite on anything. But he felt 2 fingers grab his snout and snap his mouth shut. Great, he couldn't even bite anymore. Sfoths this was turning out horrible.
Seraphlaser finally got to his home and went through the window again, landing on the floor with grace. He quickly found a bag and thew the bat inside, tying it shut. He punctured a small hole just in case, so that the vampire wouldn't faint from lack of oxygen. If anything he was curious if he would remain in this form until the blood fuel ran out. And if it did, would it just automatically transform him back in his inphernal self, or would he tire himself out to the point of exhaustion? Maybe even death? Seraphlaser decided he would just leave him in there for a while, until both of them calmed down. But most importantly, until the angel decided what to do with him. However preferably he would want to keep him somewhere more secure, so he went to search his house around for a stronger bag.
Meanwhile Exorspace was frantically thrashing in the bag. This was just humiliating. He had lived so much years, so much experience, life, he had seen so much. Being reduced to this was really weighting down on his dignity. However he was more afraid of what the angel had planned for him. He had ruffled his feathers, he had fucked up big time. He felt claustrophobic, but thankfully he saw the tiny hole carved in his bag. The claw on his wing quickly latched to it, tearing it down, making an opening for him. He flew out without a second thought, flying out of the window. He wouldn't be messing with Seraphlaser anytime soon. He needed time to prepare. This was a horrible plan anyways, his entire body was hurting and he was in desperate need of blood to heal himself. He flew out in the night, most likely headed to his manor. No one knew.
When Seraphlaser returned to the bag he saw it empty... he sighed, tired. That fucker. That blood-sucking, annoying pest, that little shitty-
He needed to calm down. Calling him names wouldn't bring him back. Seraphlaser slammed the counter with a fist, the rage overcoming him and then disappearing as fast as it came. Exhaustion overcame him. Not physical, rather, psychological. That fucker had made him question so much of himself and his morals. And now he had let him fly off, he had underestimated him. He should have killed him when he had the chance. Damn his pity, his empathy. The pest would go on to claim another victim. Seraphlaser has never hated anyone else more than him. Such a fool he was!
"Untill next time, Exorspace. You won't get away then... I promise you this." - he said, voice low, brimming with fury. He looked down at the bloody corset still on the floor, laying discarded. He crouched down to pick it up, studying it's craftsmanship. It was black, decorated with red laces and a fancy bow on the back. How could such an unholy, undeserving creature wear such a beautiful piece of cloth, he did not know. He released a sigh and stood up again, still holding it. He needed to tend to himself. The bite and cut on his arms weren't going to heal themselves. He left the corset on the counter and went to the bathroom to patch himself up. Afterwards he would need to clean up the mess in his home. That pest has decimated it all... Especially that couch of his, which was now stained with his unholy blood.
Sfoths, how much he hated him.
