Summary
Lucas Sinclair is the "King of New York," a billionaire basketball mogul who traded his small-town heart for championship rings and penthouse views. Max Mayfield is a Berkeley senior with a sharp tongue, a lit-crit thesis, and a dream of building a skate park that doesn't owe a dime to the boy who broke her heart.
In a world of social media posturing, designer distractions, and 3,000 miles of distance, they play a dangerous game of "who cares less." But between Lucas's ego-fueled lifestyle and Max's defiant independence lies a decade of history that neither can outrun. It's a story of self-worth, the toxic allure of fame, and the realization that you can have the whole world and still be missing the only person who actually knows your soul.
