Storm’s Size

Summary:

Johnny and Sue have fun with a measuring tape.

Work Text:

“Sue! Sue! Check this out!” Johnny ran up to his sister, with his hand tightly clasped around a measuring tape.

Sue sighed. “What do you want?”

“I think that I grew taller,” he said.

“No way! You’re an adult man. Adults don’t grow taller.”

“Yeah, well, I did,” Johnny said. “See for yourself.”

“Okay, fine.”

Sue took the measuring tape and sighed as she admired the way it extended and retracted. It reminded her of how Reed could stretch his body parts. I hope he’ll come home from the science convention soon.
She started to have romantic fantasies about stretching him out.

“Well, are you going to measure me or not?” Johnny tapped his foot impatiently.

“Oh, yes. Right.”

Sue stopped daydreaming, measured her brother, and saw that he was a fraction of an inch taller than before.

“EEEEEEWWWW!” she screamed.

“What’s wrong?” Johnny asked.

“You DID grow taller!” she said. “But how?”

“I’m a very special boy!” Johnny beamed.

“What was that scream about?” Reed entered the room, appearing to be around 6-7 inches taller than when he had left.

“Johnny grew taller!” Sue wailed, ignoring her husband’s increased height.

“Ah, I see,” Reed said. “Congratulations, Johnny.”

“Thanks, Reed.”
