    Life had never been easy for Kainé. Ever since she could remember, she'd been hated by everyone around her for being born different. People called her disgusting, a freak, inhuman, everything under the sun. The only person who had ever shown her love was her grandmother, but dementia had taken her away. Now all that was left of her was the flower shop she'd owned and ran for decades, and under Kainé, it was slowly dying, too.
