Work Text:

Bill sighs as he tries to cover his ears with his pillow to muffle the yelling coming from downstairs. His parents are fighting once again for god knows what reason.

He sometimes feels like it’s about him. About how he’s to blame about the downfall of their family. About how he killed Georgie.

He slowly got irritated by the noise from downstairs and figured it would be a good idea to call his boyfriend before he lost his mind.

The phone rung 3 times until his perfect boyfriend Stanley Uris picked up the phone.

“Hey Bill, Whats up?”

“Stan? It’s nuh-nothing really. I just need someone to t-t-talk to.”

“Alright i’m all ears. Whats going on?”

“My parents are fuh-fighting again, i’m slowly going c-c-c-c.. insane. Could i maybe cuh-come over?” Bill mumbles as he struggles to get the words out.

“Absolutely. Be here in 5?”

“Alright, see you in a b-b-bit, dear” Bill says as he quickly hangs up the phone and silently sneaks out his window.

The bike ride to Stan’s house is not very long, approximately 5 minutes, but it sometimes feels like eternity to both of them.

As soon as Bill arrives he parks his bike near the front porch and rings the doorbell. He was so impatient to see his lovely boyfriend again.

Mrs. Uris opened the door. “Bill! What a nice surprise, what brings you here?”

“Hi Mrs. Uris, did Stan not t-t-tell you i was cuh-coming over?”

“Huh? Oh no he didnt!” She laughs as she yells Stan’s name.

Stanley practically runs down the stairs and embraces his boyfriend in a tight hug.

“Sorry mom, forgot to tell you he was coming!” He smiled at his mother.

He took Bills hand and pulled him into the house, up the stairs.

Once they were in Stan’s room, his whole expression changed. “Bill. Are you alright?” was the first thing he asked once they were alone.

“Of course, i juh-just wanted to see you.”
“Bill, i’m serious. What were they arguing about?”
“I’m not sure, p-p-probably about me.
“You? Why would they argue about you?”
“B-b-b-b..” he took a deep breath. “Because i killed juh-juh-georgie.”
“How many times do i need to tell you it’s not your fault until you finally start believing me!” Stanley frantically yells.
Bill stands up “It is! I k-k-k-k *argh* i killed him! I should’ve guh-gone with h-h-him! I-i-i..”
Stan’s heart breaks hearing his stutter get worse. It always did when he got too stressed or emotional.

He stands up and pulls Bill in a big hug. They slowly sit down while Bill slowly starts to sob in Stanley’s arms.
“Shhh, it’s okay dear. You’re gonna be okay.”

For some reason Stan was the only loser that never saw bill as their “strong” leader. Of course, Bill was their leader and he was strong but it wasn’t always like that. Stanley knew that. That’s why, even before their relationship, Bill always called Stan first in emergencies.

After a while, Bill managed to calm down and they’re laying in bed, holding hands.
“I’m glad you called me.” Stan says as he looks at his admiring boyfriend.
Bill smiles “So am i.” he says without hesitation.

They eventually ended up laying in bed for hours while Stan rambles on about birds he saw last week. Bill always loves to hear about them.

He smiles as his boyfriend talks about the blue jay he saw yesterday. He’s happy with Stan and he knows he feels the same way about him.

He can finally be himself.
