Summary
In the early hours of a mid autumn morning, in the kingdom of Hawkins, shrouded in mist, a boy cries out. He is alone in the woods beyond his house on the outskirts of the city, vulnerable to creatures beyond his understanding. He is alone yet he is watched, as he is dragged away from all he has ever known- too small to fight back, too late to run.
The boy is swallowed by the cruel Wild of the outside, and never comes out.

It had been years, almost a decade, since any of the children were found. Missing, gone without a trace. Presumed dead, except for those who had refused to leave it at that.
But then a miracle happened. A small cluster of the missing children, kids who had disappeared all around the states and beyond, were recovered in the deserted sands of a desert near the border of Mexico. They remembered nothing but war and the remains of a world shattered by catastrophe, but they were alive, and there was hope.
