Chapter Text
Before his yearly-dreaded Quirk Assessment Test, Shota Aizawa observes his new class with a yawn and tired eyes. 'Let's see how far you all go.'
"-if you don’t give it your all-"
Meow! :Surprise!:
He stops cold, looking down slowly. A small black cat with purple eyes looks up at him. Wait… Hypnos! His eyes widen in shock as he turns to his students, Oh, sh-! "Stay back, kids!"
"Not very logical, Eraserhead! Are you threatening expulsion again? Shame on you." The Underground hero dodges to the side just before a whip could strike him.
The black and forest green suit concealed his first opponent wonderfully. The arsenal that everyone saw was even more impressive. Shota focused on making sure his students didn't do anything stupid, yet he couldn't help but huff at the way his foe smirked like he'd already won.
There's Viper, AKA: Morgan Sterling-Quinn. Quirkless, but still deadly at 15 years old. He's extremely tech-, weapon- and chemical-savvy, as well as a tactical genius. Toxins and pressure point ambushes are their go-to takedown methods, and their gun and whip skills are on par with Snipe and Nemuri. Hm. They should all spar sometime.
"I mean, really… you'd think the lesson would've sunk in by now." A net arrow was dodged this time, "Guess we'll have to teach him again! What do you think, Jade? Join in or go rest?" The emerald tree boa hissed at the second boy in response and slithered down the tree toward Koda.
Now that he knew what to look for, Shota saw another presence hidden in the shade- leaf green, dark green and brown helped this suit feel right at home in the wilds. His students had different reactions to the second intruder’s stealth, though that wasn't as shocking as the feline grace shown when he dropped from the branch.
Sharpshot, David Frost-Wayne. Also 15. Quirk: Eco-Voice. He can communicate with flora and fauna alike, and he's obviously not afraid to exploit weaknesses. Cheap shot with the cat… but it's effective, knowing me. And Jade's here too. Clever snake. Two of many support animals he has available. His bow and trick arrows are his main weapons of choice, though he's able to make anything he gets his hands on an incredible projectile.
A startled cry made Shota look at the children as a third person actually appeared from Denki Kaminari's shadow- said student being held hostage (though he’s not as scared as he should be in a situation like this… Interesting).
"Hi.” The electric teen stayed still as his former stowaway leaned toward his ear, “Don't worry, we're not gonna hurt you.”
Black and dark red made this suit more menacing than the words themselves intended. Pairing that with a mischievous wink… it was a wonder everyone still listened to their teacher's orders not to engage.
And that makes three. Reaper, Peter Nox-Prince. Quirk: Shadow's Embrace. He's the youngest of the trio at 14- and the most versatile, power-wise. But he's also the most likely to hurt himself if he's not careful. Using his own life force, depending on the amount, he’s been seen to summon ghost warriors, manipulate darkness and enchant weapons- but it's unknown just how far he can go when pushed to the limit. He's incredibly skilled in quirkless fighting and weapon tactics for when his quirk is off the table.
He looks at the vigilantes he's worked with for the past 2 years. They're not saying my name. It's a simulation for the students. And they think I’m up to my old tricks. So… the Ghosts came to play? Happy to oblige.
Shota smirks at the intruders, a sly gleam in his eyes.
"Stay calm, kids. This will be over soon."

When his brothers said they wanted to have some fun, this isn't exactly what David thought the two meant. But, he can easily admit, seeing one of the new hero classes is pretty fun.
The first thing the trio noticed of the class (and what intrigued them the most) was that some of the students were shocked at first.
Then they got this look in their eyes.
Like the boys were investigated.
Then it hit him or rather, Shota hit him while he was distracted. Some of the hero students knew about the Ghosts while they were still in Gotham? But how?!
Let's see here… He brought up the research from his mind.
Momo Yaoyorozu: basically a goddess of creation (maybe they should start worshiping her… thoughts for later), incredibly smart, clever and dedicated enough to logically create anything she wanted if it's non-living (though… plants may be an option with enough research and time); but she definitely needs help with her self-confidence, in case one of her plans falls through… Morgan is the best choice for support. Versatile in any hero path.
Katsuki Bakugo: hot-tempered and volatile, but I think we can help him with that. Could be a good twilight hero with some stealth training, but we’re not pigeonholing any students. Hm… Maybe we can tear down his old middle school while we're here- that toxic environment (no matter that he didn't internalize anything) needs to die with it. We also need to help keep his IED in manageable terms. We can send Harley up to help Hound Dog- lighten his load, maybe.
Tenya Iida: strict and has a blind spot when it comes to his older brother (potential biases when it comes to arguments/black and white thinking? Unknown for now). Absolutely needs to be taught out-of-the-box thinking- we don’t want him to snap under pressure when we can stop it.
Mina Ashido: charismatic and extroverted, but ADHD makes school work harder… Morgan's got her. She's also a lithe dancer- definitely helps her be unpredictable in close combat. Maybe we can make spray guns for her acid, long range. Or grenades… we’ll consult with Mei.
Denki Kaminari: light-hearted with a sneaky side; overpowered quirk that harms himself when he goes overboard: side effects include mini seizures, ADHD, numerical dyslexia and Auditory Processing Disorder… Peter's gonna have his hands full, that's for sure. We'll have to figure out IEPs for students that need them, too. Possible weapons could be knives, staff or chains and caltrops (take inspiration from comic heroes, villains and ninjas?). Many hero paths he can take here.
Koji Koda: selectively mute… His Quirk is like my power, but purely animal based. Terrified of insects, same as Hizashi. I'll work with both of them to get used to different animals. My kids will adore spending time with him- oh! Jade and Hypnos already do. Yay! That's great! Hm… Pockets for food, proper body protection and raptor gloves needed for maximum efficiency.
Fumikage Tokoyami and Dark Shadow: they work as a team, but the two have a long way to go for communication; he wants Dark Shadow to listen and she wants Fumikage to be safe. They definitely need to train for both dark and light resistance. Peter would snatch them up, too.
And finally, Izuku Midoriya: quirkless, but determined all the same; he'll benefit from Aldera's demise like Katsuki. Therapy is a must for all these kids, but mostly him and Katsuki. Harley might be able to help with that. We'll also have to keep an eye on his health: wisdom teeth surgery and a burst appendix are no jokes (Maybe magic could solve his problems…). Once we help him realize his true potential, he'll be a fantastic hero.
David's first thoughts were: Oh, they'll be such chaotic gremlins with our help. We're gonna make so many upgrades for these students. Then he froze in shock, blood rushing from his face, Wait… That's 9 students out of 20 just in this class that know about us?!
Not for the first time, he cursed the media (especially in Gotham. Vultures, all of them). He's not looking forward to finding out how the group knows about the vigilantes.
Ugh… Right, enough thinking. Time to get back to playing.
~~~~~~
Peter wasn't expecting a lot from the students after he shadow traveled behind Denki Kaminari (tactical judgement, of course. The boys always do their research, and Peter wanted to see how great Denki and the class' control was), but having his hostage flinch in fear only to get this calculating gleam in his eyes as he looks at the intruders was not on that list. He's not scared of us. A glance toward Sharpshot told him everything he needed to know: The Ghosts were researched in Japan.
"Well, Teach? What'll you do now?" The questions had the intended effect for some students- a step back in terror. For others, the same reaction Denki had. Okay, gotta get on that quick.
"Finish this." What-?! The next second, Peter was wrapped in Shota's capture cloth, yellow eyes glaring at the boy as the students shivered. "Ha. Good job, EH." Then he looked closer at the hero, "Hey, you listened to us. Yay!" They couldn't see it before, but the man put hair ties on his wrist and belt for pre-combat use.
Looking around, his partners looked like they had their fun. The other two boys had their hands up in surrender. Smart thinking.
Morgan hummed. "Well, that lasted longer than I thought it would." Shota glared at him and David, too, "What are you guys doing here?"
They grinned at the tired man, while Hypnos jumped on his shoulder and Jade looked at him from Koji. "Isn't it obvious?" Shota almost paled, whether in fear of the potential "chaos sense'' he has when it's about to unfold or from the extra work he has to do, he's not sure. "We're here to help Japan."
Silence swept through the training ground.
Then, "Nezu, I need a raise."
Meow. :True.:
"You said it."
"We'll ask Uncle Nezu when we see him, don't worry."
Shota chuckles at the deadpan tone, "Gee, thanks."
Despite everything that just occurred, startled laughter burst from the various students around them.
”What… the heck is going on here?” Ochaco’s question, while valid, was the catalyst for even more chaos as four smirks had chills run through everyone there.
Peter just waved his arms wide, as if he was a showman, “Welcome to your Hero Academia. Enjoy your stay!”
