Chapter Text

It...was unexpected. The two didn't expect to have a child, especially between their species. A blaze hybrid, a deer hybrid. It was a one-night event, and they drank, and one thing led to another. They weren't careful; they should have been. But, they didn't treat this surprise as something of ruin; if anything, it just encouraged the two to look after the bundle of joy.

The pregnancy wasn't easy, especially with the mother not having a home server, just her own home world, while the father jumped between servers; nothing was permanent. But the two made it work. The mother, before she was about 34 to 35 weeks along, would make money by taking up building jobs, while the father took up redstone jobs with a few odd building jobs here and there.

The two would stay at local, affordable inns and lofts in the Common World Hub until the baby was born. They went to a host server where the father was waiting for the time being. The server was hybrid-welcoming, so there were professionals to help with the birth.

"Tango, she'll be fine," the admin, Xisuma, a voidwalker, told the blaze, who was standing, hunched over, outside the room, he had just ran to the clinic after doing some redstones for a member of the host server, he was panting, panic in his eyes as the woman who was having his son was currently having contractions. He had just made it by the skin of his teeth. The two men heard screaming, and Tango ran into the room.

"Gem!" he yelled. He saw her, the mother to his child, Gem, screaming as one of the hermits, Tango didn't know their name, was muttering and telling things to Gem.

The labour was long and nerve-wracking. Tango, he stayed there, one hand holding Gem's, the other holding Xisuma's hand. Xisuma didn't fully understand how he exactly got roped into being a part of the birth of Gem's and Tango's son, but then, he couldn't really leave due to the grip the blaze had on him. After many, many hours, Tango had lost track after two; Gem didn't keep count. It was 14 hours according to the doctor. But their baby boy was born healthy.

The boy had a full head of blonde hair, like his father, and he already presented some features of a hybrid. He had markings of a deer across his skin, like freckles; his feet were hoof-like; and he had a halo of blaze sticks around his head. The baby had a good mix of his father and mother, with some odd features here and there, most likely from other sides of the family such as grandparents, however, the strangest would have been from his blue eyes, the doctor said it was possible that both parents could carry blue eye recessive gene, but he did point out how the eyes of babies tend to change from blue to their actual color within a few days to week, finally settling by 6 to 12 months.

Gem and Tango finally got some alone time with their bundle of joy. With Xisuma still being there, Tango didn't let him leave.

"What are you going to name the boy?" Xisuma asked, also looking at the boy who was sound asleep in the mother's arms.

"Thomas Taylor Tek." Gem said, looking at Tango, who silently agreed with a nod.
