You're our light

Summary:

Peter Parker was a teenager who could be described as normal, well, except for a few details:

1: He spent most of his weekends building Lego Star Wars sets made up of thousands of pieces with his friend Ned.
2: He had a certain attraction to Harry Osborn (nothing weird, I promise).
3: He had somehow landed an internship at Stark Industries.

Unfortunately, what he didn't know was that his life was about to change overnight, and that he was much more special than he thought.

For better or for worse...

Renamed by I found a name that better matched what I wanted to write

Formerly known as "The Water Spider"

In PAUSE! (SORRY)

Notes:

Hello !
This is the second story I've written about Marvel, and honestly, I've had this idea for a long time. I thought it would pass, but it didn't. The worst part is that my brain had time to come up with a plot based on this idea, so I'm posting it to finally get it out of my head (just imagine, I dream about it at night).
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it! :)

Happy reading! <333

Chapter 1: The mystics

Chapter Text

Like many stories, this one begins several centuries ago. It is between 1350 and 1400 (human years) when the first beings that would later be called mystics appeared. Although physically similar to humans, the mystics came from another world, a world far away that they were forced to leave. Unfortunately, this world was not the first they had to leave.

The mystics were not only from other worlds, they were masters of elemental magic: water, earth, fire, air. Each of them mastered at least one of the four elements. This, of course, meant that they were the most powerful beings in the universe. Unfortunately, this also meant that their powers were coveted. All mystics possessed a stone that appeared in a specific place on their bodies when their powers awakened. This stone was used to channel their powers and determine which elemental magic the mystic possessed.

What forced the mystics to flee was the appearance of five men determined to possess their powers. At first, they were not really bothered by them, but eventually became suspicious when they began attacking them one by one to steal their magic. They developed a form of magic capable of absorbing that of the mystics. Their technique consisted of combining their powers to create a portal that imprisoned them in another dimension. But the mystics did not know this and thought that their peers were dying. They had become so powerful that they were given the name Tracker.

With only a few hundred remaining at the outset and seeing their numbers rapidly dwindling, fearing for their safety, they had no choice but to flee. They spent the following centuries moving from world to world, but despite their efforts, the Trackers always managed to track them down, and by the time they arrived on Earth, their numbers had been reduced to a mere dozen. All that remained now was the royal family and a few close relatives.

They planned to hide on this planet because it was one of the safest in the universe and therefore the best place for them to hide, but unfortunately they were caught by the Hunters, and this time they would not let anyone escape.

The ensuing battle was fierce and relentless. They fought as valiantly as they could, but it was not enough, and they were defeated by the Trackers, who absorbed their powers. Thus ended the royal line of mystics.

But miraculously, there was one survivor. The princess, the royal couple's only child, managed to escape and flee. She landed on an Asian archipelago that would later be called ‘Japan’. She was welcomed by a tribe of natives, taking care to hide her true nature. There she met a young man with whom she fell in love, and the two married and had a child. She left notes so that her descendants would know their origins. Her notes were passed down from generation to generation but were never read.

They were nevertheless preserved with the utmost care, and several centuries later, one of their descendants left Japan for North America and settled there. The only survivors of the mystics lived in peace without worrying about the Hunters.

Until the day when...

Peter Parker was a teenager who could be described as normal, except for a few details...

Unlike some teenagers his age, he spent hours in his room with his best friend Ned building Lego Star Wars sets with thousands of pieces. He was part of the decathlon team at Midtown High School, where he was a student (and an excellent one at that). For some time now, he had been feeling a certain attraction to his other friend, Harry Osborn (but it's nothing weird, I promise). But the weirdest thing now was that he had managed to land an internship at Stark Industries, working directly for Tony Stark!

Explanation: Stark Industries had launched a recruitment programme through the September Foundation, and Peter, interested in the opportunity, had applied. To his great surprise, he had been accepted, and his application had caught the attention of the company's CEO, Pepper Potts. The moment Peter received the acceptance email from Stark Industries was one of the best moments of his life.

But unfortunately for him and his aunt, May Parker, his uncle, Ben Parker, was shot dead during a burglary. Worse still, Peter was there when it happened. In the days that followed, the two clung to each other without letting go. This loss was particularly hard for Peter, who was no stranger to grief. At a young age, he had lost both his parents in a plane crash.

Both were scientists and they cared deeply for him. Peter had taken the loss very hard at the time and remained silent for some time afterwards. It was Ben who helped him overcome his grief, which meant that they were very close.

But thanks to May and the support of his friends, he had turned his life around and was now happy and excited about starting his internship.

He now believed that nothing could stop him from being happy and enjoying his internship.

If only he knew how wrong he was.
