Katsuki had it all planned out; he was going to confess to Izuku on the night of Valentine's Day. Now all he has to do, is to wait a few hours. The reason on why he won't just do it in the daytime, is because he wants to do it when everyone is gone, and it's just them remaining.
He's got something prepared; a bouquet of flowers, a box of chocolates, and obviously, the most important part when courting the nerd, an All Might figurine. The bouquet of flowers is also made up of red, blue, and yellow. All Might's signature colours.
Katsuki's pretty equanimous. Confident that Izuku will say yes; though, he might just be saying otherwise to encourage himself. Maybe. With the help of his friends' encouragement, Katsuki is set on attaining his goal.
"Hey, Blasty! You going to see Midoriya today?" Mina muses, waiting for an answer at the end of her inquiry.
Katsuki flinches—though he'll never admit to it. Her cheerful voice cuts his thoughts short. "Whadda ya' want, Pinky?!" In contrast to Mina's pitch, his is more blunt, and gruff.
"Oh, come on, Bakugou! Don't be such a kill joy!"
Bakugou rolls his eyes at Ashido's vital reply. "The fuck do you want?"
Mina feigns hurt, hand on her chest. "Wow, Baku-babe. You really pain me with that one!"
"Yeah the fuck right. Go back to your boyfriend, Shitty Hair, and leave me alone."
A tinge of pink dusts her cheeks at the mention of Eijirou and the word 'boyfriend'. "We—we're not even together!" She sputters, flustered and exposed.
"Oh, right. I swear, it'll take about fucking 50 years until you guys even confess to each other." Katsuki retorts with a smirk.
"You can't be talking when you haven't confessed either! Also—wait. Are you saying Kirishima likes me too? Oh my gosh, I've got to go. Good luck with Midoriya!" Mina dashes away from Bakugou, determined to find Kirishima. Minutes after, Mina comes back with Kirishima; his arm wrapped around her shoulders.
"What's up, Baku-bro! Thanks for helping us out!" Kirishima said, his voice exuberant.
"Yeah, well. I didn't do it on purpose, Shitty Hair." Used to Bakugou's abrasiveness, he doesn't flinch at his response.
With narrowed eyes, Eijirou looks around the area, expecting Bakugou of something. "Hey, Bakugou, where's Midoriya? Did he say yes?"
"Calm down, Shitty Hair. You're more nervous than me at this point."
"We all know that's a lie! Your leg is clearly bouncing up and down frantically!" Mina giggles at her assumption.
"Yeah, bro. Not gonna lie, but you look anxious. Are you okay?" Kirishima furrows his brows in concern, worried for his friend.
"The fuck? I'm never nervous."
"Okay, now that one is definitely a lie."
"SHUT THE FUCK UP PINKY?!" In Katsuki's periphery, he spots a flash of green.
"Hey, guys!" Izuku, with a bright smile, waves his hand as he sidles over to them.
With a smug grin, Eijirou glances at Katsuki, (and in return, earns a mean scowl from him) then redirects his attention back to Midoriya. "What's up, man!" Kirishima offers him a handshake, in which Midoriya accepts his token of appreciation.
"Mina," Izuku nods his head towards the pink haired woman. "Hi, Midoriya!" She chirps. Izuku averts his head from her, and is now facing Katsuki with a beaming grin. "Hi, Kacchan!"
Mina raises her eyebrow, a knowing look plastered on her face directed to Katsuki. Flustered, Katsuki warns her with a subtle but effective glower. She shuts her mouth after that; although, chuckling to herself internally.
Katsuki flushes slightly, looking at anywhere but Izuku. "Yeah, yeah, whatever Nerd.. Hi."
"Ooooh!!" Mina cooes, wiggling her eyebrows at Katsuki that's paired with a wide, cheeky smile. "You're awfully nicer than usual! I wonder why. Anything you guys want to tell Kirishima and I?" She drawls, stifling her laugh by biting her lower lip.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP, PINKY! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT."
"Uhm—ahem," Izuku suddenly appears to seem more nervous as he looks through his eyelashes. "Uh—can you meet me at my dorm later tonight?"
His eyebrows raise scarcely; it was so unexpected, Katsuki thought of all the possibilities that'd come to his mind. Is he going to tell me he likes me? No—I'm supposed to tell him first, because I'm the best. Will he reciprocate, though? What if he wants to meet up so that he can cut off all contact with me? He wouldn't; he couldn't. Bakugou is focused on his conspiracies, when someone—Mina, all of a sudden, hits him with the back of her hand lightly.
"—Earth to Katsuki! Mido-babe's asking you a question, it'd be rude not to reply, no?" She raises one of her eyebrows at him, as if to say: 'You better say yes.'
Like, the fuck? Who even was she to tell The Katsuki Fucking Bakugou what to do?! Whatever. He did say yes, but only because curiosity took control over him; wanting to know what Deku has to say. "Sure. Whatever, Nerd. I'll meet you there."
Izuku's anxiousness partially subsides, replaced with relief due to Katsuki's affirmation. Albeit still a little queasy, excitement exceeds his worries. "Okay, Kacchan! Don't forget!"
"Hah?! I never fucking forget anything, De-Izuku!"
"Kacchan, like I've said before, you can call me whatever you like; I don't care if you call me Deku!"
"Fine! Deku, are you happy now?!" Katsuki's fond smile betrays the harshness delivered in his retort.
"Yes, Kacchan. Very!" Izuku giggles, voice lively and easygoing. As the two of them were talking back and forth, a voice intercepts their conversing.
"Ugh, get a room, you guys! It's honestly sickening how both of you guys are overly sweet with each other!"
This proclaim elicits a shrill yelp from Midoriya. Hands waving in a frantic manner, spluttering. "Guys—we're, we're just friends.!"
Bakugou winces at that, a heavy, deep, twinge of pain lingers in his chest. "..Yeah, guys; don't be weird. Me and Deku are just friends." An unpleasant silence fills the area they're staying.
Noticing the sudden change in their demeanor, Mina quickly opts to give them space. "Woah, there's so much people in here now—Ooh, Kirishima, let's go and talk to Deku's friend group! Bye guys, we'll see you later!" The couple walks away from the two, Mina dragging Kirishima by the arm.
Izuku stares at Katsuki with a tiny frown. "Kacchan—"
"Save it, Deku. Just tell me everything you want to say to me later. Okay?"
"Alright," He concedes. "I'm gonna go talk with my friends now. You should too, Kacchan."
"See you, Deku."
"Make sure to be nice, Kacchan." He offers a small smile, but big enough for Katsuki to keep him determined with his plan; despite him painfully getting friend-zoned, he's confident that Izuku will say yes. Hopefully. Izuku trots over to his friends, all carefree. He looks like he's having fun. So Katsuki will too. For Deku's sake.
Evening strikes, and Katsuki goes straight to Izuku's dorm room. No one questions where he's going, and he's grateful.
Standing in front of the door, he prepares himself by breathing in and out. Katsuki wipes his sweaty hands on his pants, in fear of accidentally blowing up Izuku's hatch.
Carrying the items he has bought for the freckled boy, he unlatches the door; one foot stepping over the threshold.
As expected, Izuku's right there, sitting down on the precipice of his bed. The door creaking alerted Izuku to lift his head; realising that it was Katsuki, Izuku stands up, wearing an infectious grin on his face that makes Katsuki want to smile too.
"Kacchan! You're here!"
"Of course I am, I never say anything I don't mean."
"Yeah, by the way, the reason I called you here..." Midoriya's voice falters, reluctant if he should proceed with his declaration.
"Spit it out already, Deku." Apprehension gnawing him from the inside, Katsuki grows impatient.
"O-okay, fine.! I just wanted to say that, you know—since everyone's going to be pursuing their own paths, and we won't be able to hang out anymore since we're all going to be so busy when we reach adulthood and we're all gonna have jobs—"
"God fucking dammit, Izuku! Just say it already!"
"IjustwantedtosaythathappyvalentinesdayIloveyoukacchanandIhopeyoufeelthesame!" Izuku blurts out in a hurry, his eyes shut tight; too scared to face Katsuki.
The deafening quietude stretches between them. Izuku regrets this; I knew I shouldn't have said anything! Now he probably thinks I'm weird! What a foolish way to ruin a friendship. The blond steps towards Izuku and holds his chin in between his thumb and index finger. He takes a peek with one eye open, and almost shrieks seeing Katsuki so close to him.
"I feel the same way," Katsuki shows him all the products he bought.
Eyes watering, Izuku feels so happy. "Kacchan, you didn't have to! I only got you flowers." He pouts, feeling insecure of his lack of things for Katsuki.
The latter chortles, he pulls his hand back from Izuku's chin to give him his offerings. "You didn't need to get me anything at all, Deku. I'm fine with not having anything. As long as I receive your warmth."
Izuku collects the gifts given to him; tears drip down Izuku's face as he blubbers.
Kacchan cups his face and uses his thumb to wipe off the sobs. "Hey, why are you crying?" His timbre soft and gentle this time; not like his usual, explosive self.
"I—I'm sorry, Kacchan. I don't mean to be so emotional right now, it's just, I wasn't positive that you were even going to come here. But you said you feel the same way, and I'm really, really glad that you do."
"Don't be stupid, Deku." Katsuki pulls Izuku into a hug, and he reciprocates. The both of them stay in that position for a short period of time. Eventually, Izuku finishes weeping, then Katsuki pulls back from him a little bit, their faces inches away from kissing. "Izuku, will you be my Valentine?"
"I will if you'll be mine, Kacchan."
"Stupid nerd. Of course I will be, I asked you first!"
"Yeah, but I'm the one who asked you to meet first!"
"Just fucking kiss me already, Deku!"
"Okay, okay!" Izuku leans in first, Katsuki following his movements.
They meet right at the middle; it was slow and tender. Izuku's heartbeat quickened, he felt his knees start to buckle. Fortunately, Katsuki held him on to him rather tightly. The kiss that was shared was both sentimental, and heartwarming.
Foreheads touching, Izuku whispers an endearment. "I love you, Katsuki."
Called by his first name, he can't help but redden from the intimacy, albeit Izuku having a seperate nickname just for him. "I love you too, Izuku. Happy Valentine's Day."
