“Let’s ride, sharky!”
Mualani’s voice suddenly grew louder and louder, as his heart beats started to accelerate.
Perhaps it was the hot air which surrounded him in a very uncomfortable embrace, or the sudden dizziness from fighting a group of unwanted enemies, but nevertheless, his cheeks were an unusual cherry color and his body was tense.
No.
This wasn’t related to the heatwave which was crossing Natlan like a blazing fire. This had nothing to do with the fact that a few saurians decided to make a ruckus over sth small, and his duty was to take care of it.
No, this was all because of her. The always joyful and enthusiastic surfer girl, Mualani.
“KINICH!!! I’m sooo happy I stumbled upon you, I’ve been meaning to check up on you for a while now...”
“Well, this was certainly a surprise…not a bad one though.”
Kinich suddenly added, as if he was afraid of offending her.
“Hmm, well, if you ask me, I say we do something together!! Maybe…roller skate? We can head over to Xilonen’s place, she has been my teacher for quite some time and she can teach you too!!”
Even though her eager personality made Kinich almost, just almost, accept the rollerblading activity, he quickly changed his mind; he didn’t want to embarrass himself…especially NOT in front of her.
As if sensing his discomfort, she suggested another idea.
“How about…you and I go surfing??? Omg, pleaaaase let me teach you!! It’ll be so cool if we do it together!!”
“Do you seriously want me that bad to fall face first into the ocean?”
He sighted, trying to not mind her tight and excited hold on his left arm.
“No, of course not! I just want to have fun with you! Plus, I don’t see Ajaw around, so… maybe we’ll finally get a chance to spend time together, just us two…”
Her expressions changed every second, from the disappointment evident on her pouty face, to the sudden giddiness that soon escalated into a silly giggle. He liked her extremely eager personality, even though he would never admit that.
It was a nice contrast to his somewhat pessimistic approach on trying new things.

“Open your eyes slow poke, I’m right here. Do you not have any respect for the great and ALL MIGHTY DRAGON LORD AJAW-“
In a blink of an eye, Ajaw disappeared just like the small, almost unnoticeable smile which was plastered on Kinich’s face. He didn’t even realize he was grinning, it was a reflex. A reflex which only happened with her by his side.
“Well, come onnnn, we can’t spare a minute… Atta boy!!”
