You and me always, together
Ever since I first opened my eyes and saw you there, screaming your little eyes out, I knew it to be true - we two were meant to be, always and forever no matter what the universe might just throw our way.
It was as if writ, to be us against the galaxy. special we be, true, but also bonded for this thing the others called life.
As no matter what strife, whatever hurdles there might have been in our way, we could handle it all together, the two of us.
We were always defending each other, all those times the others teased us for being different. Never taking it lying down. Neither of us did that. Always on the defensive. But especially you even if I knew you were the more sensitive of us two, defending us from the bad things in life.
And so it was like that for a long while, our family growing, as did we two too. The us becoming four, the team thrown out their in war. We, us, being always the best, always number one. And you were by my side, always. The us there never written but present.
Then, things changed again and we became five. It was really good for a while. Until, the war ended, things changing for the worse. Much much worse. And then, you left. There being no more us.
I was broken, heart and soul, and yet, trying to stay strong. Keeping what remained together. The one more tagging along for the long road ahead and yet the family not quite complete without you there, never the same us again.
But then, after some time and lots of sorrow and sadness, I found you again.
I got you back, I got my family back together again. And now, we all are together again. But you and me are, will always be, the us we were meant to be.
The always, as if writ, never again apart. A promise I made myself, and you. A long time ago, now having once again come true.
