Chapter Text
Another winter day on Mountain aand another day of checking in on the Little Ones who don't just pile into the Palace or cottage to avoid the cold. And Wukong was happy to finish his checks with the news that all the new couples were doing good, and were staying healthy. Especially those who were expecting.
Rushing through the trees he spots Macaque headed his way, so deviated to a clearing nearby.
Once they were both there Wukong notices the serious loom on the Shadow Monkeys face.
"What is it Macaque? You haven't been around most of the winter, so why are you here now?" Wukong questioned making sure to keep Macaque in his line of sight.
"I know we're just barely getting to be on civil terms, but I want us to get better." Macaque starts to say while approaching the King, "So this is going to sound stupid, but would you.." Be starts to hesitate.
"Would I what? And yeah we should be doing better, even if it's only because MK doesn't like us just circling eachother like we're just waiting for things to go wrong." The Stone Monkey rambles shifting his weight, and letting out a sigh.
Then he noticed that Macaque had kneeled with a box in hand, 'there's no way he'd-' the thought was cut off when the box opens. And inside was some recommendations for therapy.
"Would you go to Couples Counseling with me? I don't know if we'll ever get back to how we used to, but I want us to try." Macaque explains.
Wukong let's out a sigh, "Alright. Let's go over the options. Though did you have to make it look like you were going to propose?"
Macaque stands up and hands Wukong the box, "I thought it would funny, and help get you more into the idea. Plus it's Valentine's Day, and I wanted to mess with ya a bit." He replies with a shrug.
"What's Valentine's Day?" The Stone Monkey askes.
"A mostly romantic holiday for couples and mates. I guess I put too much faith in you knowing the holiday." Was the answer given.
"Well that would explain why I don't know it. If we were still together maybe, but why celebrate when I'm not with anyone."
Macaque decided to switch the topic, "If these don't work, we'll ask Sandy, or see about one of the Monkeys."
"There is one, but she's expecting right now, so we'll have to go elsewhere first." Wukong tells him. There were technically a few Little Ones up to the task, but only one would fit what they most likely needed.
They eventually have a Little One who isn't afraid to tell them they're being stupid, while still pregnant, and later caring for her Cub at the same time.
