---Scott---
Scott was surprised when Avid kissed him at the beacon. Sure, the hunter had been flirting with him for a while, but he hadn’t expected him to be so forward. And, if he were honest, he’d almost say he liked it.
Avid was strangely cute, and incredibly clingy. He wanted to spend time with Scott, which was new.
Of course, Pyro was interested in Scott’s attention, but initially, that was out of fear. The only time it hadn’t been tinged with any fear was when Scott had complimented his eyes as they consecrated a beacon together. Their recent boost in confidence was fascinating to watch.
And obviously both fledglings had looked fantastic in the light of the fires from the walls of Oakhurst.
So when Scott walked into the dining room, only to see Avid drag Pyro into a kiss, well…
It certainly wasn’t a sight he’d expected, but he wasn’t displeased by it. The two looked surprisingly good together.
Unfortunately, Avid pulled away from Pyro before the other fledgling could react and then was out the door before either of them could say anything.
Pyro certainly didn’t seem to know what to think about that.
“He’s picked up a habit of doing that.” Scott interrupted Pyro’s dazed staring, making them jump.
“What- uh, what do you mean?” Pyro’s insistence on feigning innocence was entertaining. Especially knowing they’ve never been able to lie to him.
“Avid.” Scott smirked and approached his fledgling. “At least with me, he didn’t run away. Just kissed me and acted like nothing happened.”
That caused Pyro to panic. “I’m sorry Sire- I didn’t-”
Scott put a finger to their lips to stop them, backing them into the table. “I wasn’t making an accusation, just stating a fact. The real question is, did you like it?”
---Pyro---
He couldn’t-
Why would he-
Pyro couldn’t meet Scott’s eyes anymore, and the finger fell from his lips.
“Sire, he kissed you. He’s yours.” Pyro stated, not sure what to think. “It doesn’t matter how I felt about it…”
A finger under their chin pulled Pyro’s gaze back to Scott.
“It matters to me.” The way Scott was smiling at him… No, that couldn’t be right. Could it?
“Yes.” The word slipped out, but Pyro was too distracted by the strangely soft look in Scott’s eye to pay attention to what he was saying. “I think I did.”
“Oh?” That grin... Scott had never looked at him like that before. He was pleased with that answer. “Was it good?”
Was it what?
Scott began slowly trailing his fingers across Pyro’s jaw and down their neck, ghosting around the scar from where he turned them and making it even harder for them to think rationally.
“I uh,” Pyro stuttered, embarrassed by the answer but unwilling to lie to Scott. “I don’t know. I haven’t- I mean- I don’t-”
“Was that your first kiss Pyro?” Scott interrupted before they could figure out what to say. At least he sounded amused by the situation.
Pyro couldn’t bring himself to answer and looked away again.
“Well,” Scott’s hand settled on Pyro’s chest and brought his other to rest on their waist, “I suppose we’ll have to give you something to compare it to.”
What?
Pyro’s attention snapped back to Scott.
Did he hear that right?
Scott leaned in closer to him. “That was hardly a first kiss worth having. Let me show you.”
Oh.
He was seriously offering...
The moment Pyro nodded, Scott’s lips were on his.
Everything seemed to disappear around them.
Nothing else mattered.
Scott was kissing him. Softly. Carefully. Like he was something to be cared for.
And they couldn’t help but sink into the feeling.
Hesitantly, Pyro brought his hands up to rest on Scott’s waist, lightly at first, then tightening when he didn’t seem to reject it.
They felt Scott’s hand leave their chest to rest on their cheek, just as he pulled away, though he didn’t go far.
Opening his eyes, unsure when he’d closed them, Pyro dazedly studied his sire.
He’d just-
What-
Why?
Their sire continued to hold them close, smirking at them and clearly satisfied with whatever he saw.
Pyro dropped his forehead onto Scott’s shoulder, taking a breath to bring himself back to reality.
“I’ll take that as a compliment,” Scott laughed, and Pyro felt his claws combing through their hair. “How do you feel about getting a bit of payback on our little hunter? Seems a shame to allow him to simply kiss and ignore both of us without consequences.”
Right.
This started because Avid kissed him out of nowhere.
“What kind of consequence are you thinking of Sire?” Pyro relaxed against Scott, relishing in the closeness he was being allowed.
“I believe Avid deserves a surprise in turn.” They felt Scott turn and kiss their neck. “And I have just the way you can.”
“Wait.” Pyro shoved himself away so he could see Scott’s face, already missing the feel of claws in his hair. “You want me to do it?”
Why would he want them there for this at all?
Didn’t he want Avid?
“Oh Pyro,” Scott looked almost smug, “you underestimate how good you two looked together. Honestly, with the right embellishments, I’m sure you could make Avid as flustered as I can.”
“But don’t you want him too?” Pyro’s guilt cut through the warmth the compliment gave him. “I couldn’t-”
“Now now, who’s to say we can’t have both?” Scott leaned in once more. “I don’t mind sharing, so long as I get to keep both of you.”
Was that an option?
It must be, if Scott looks this confident.
Before they could second guess themselves, Pyro leaned in the rest of the way to kiss Scott again.
---Avid---
What the hell had he been thinking?
He hadn’t been. That was the obvious answer.
Pyro had been threatening him. Backed him into the table and leaned over him too – so sue him, he found that hot. Something about the moment, with Pyro glaring at him and standing way too close...
Maybe it was the danger of it. He’d spent so long playing it safe because of his illness. Now that he was cured, he could do anything.
And apparently that included kissing hot vampires.
Why did he run? It wasn’t as though Pyro of all people would have hurt him. Sure they talked a big game, but they certainly wouldn’t have done anything in the castle. Not when Scott could have noticed.
It wasn’t worth dwelling on. Everything’s fine.
He would just ignore it, like he did when he kissed Scott. It’s not like either of them reacted, they must not really care about it after all.
Even now, as Scott led him down into the castle crypt to show him something, the elder vampire was acting how he always did.
So it was fine.
Scott opened a secret door Avid had never seen before, and gestured for him to enter, before closing it behind them. A small passageway led to a small room with nothing but a bed and a chest.
“Hello Avid.”
Scratch that. A bed, a chest, and Pyro. Dressed very differently from a few hours ago when he kissed them.
“You left in quite a hurry earlier,” Pyro continued. Avid couldn’t pull his eyes away from the way the creamy white fabric of their new shirt framed their chest with its plunging neckline. Not to mention the new gold necklaces they wore, or the golden embroidery on the black coat that lay open over it. The Pyro from earlier was nothing compared to the Pyro in front of him now.
“I told you he’d be speechless.” Scott’s voice came from directly behind him, as the vampire wrapped an arm around his waist and used a hand to tilt Avid’s chin up until he met Pyro’s eyes. “They may be a piece of art Avid, but it’s impolite to simply stare when someone’s speaking with you.”
Pyro scoffed as he stepped closer. “Avid’s never polite.”
“He certainly has some bad habits.” Scott agreed as though Avid weren’t even there.
What were they-
Oh.
Were they- How did Scott find out?
“Finally realized?” Pyro addressed him again, looking smug.
Avid couldn’t get his voice to work, and his knees felt ready to give out at any moment.
“Your actions have consequences Avid,” Scott whispered into his ear and Avid felt it down his spine.
Pyro’s hand was on his waist now too, and they were grinning. “We very much intend to follow through.”
Oh fuck.
Avid’s hand began to reach for Pyro, but both of them caught his wrist before it could move very far.
“We both know about the little habit you’ve picked up,” Scott commented, pulling the offending hand behind Avid, trapping it between them and consequently pulling Pyro closer to them. “It won’t be happening this time. No getting away from us either.”
“You know, if we really wanted him to suffer,” Pyro offered, face so close, but not close enough, “we’d end it here and leave. Look at him. Hasn’t even said a word to us yet.”
“You make a good point.” Scott let go of Avid and Pyro’s grip on him became the only thing keeping him standing. “He’s cute this way, but he’s no fun to fluster if he doesn’t wish to continue. And we are here for a little fun.”
Scott appeared behind Pyro, wrapping an arm around their waist.
Wait.
They both were looking at him expectantly.
There was a question in there.
What-
Shit, they wanted him to talk.
Of course he wanted to see where this went.
Avid fell against Pyro’s chest and closed his eyes, focused on his breathing in his efforts to remember how words worked.
“I- Yes.” He forced it out, looking back up at them, grateful for their enhanced hearing, because he was sure they wouldn’t have heard it otherwise. “Please.”
Their matching grins made the effort well worth it.
