Work Text:
It has been rather peaceful day in the bunker, the boys haven’t been on a hunt for few days now which was relatively more creepy than peaceful, considering they almost never have a peaceful day. I mean why would they? It’s what their job is, saving lives, hunting monsters so normal people can keep on living without a blink of an eye, that maybe there is something outside. And just as they finally accepted that maybe there just isn’t a hunt for them, a monster for them to catch- “I think I found something” Sam said, rather happy and defeated by the fact. “Near Maryland, Baltimore a victim found cut to pieces ” Sam continued as Dean stood behind him “you sure it’s a monster?” Dean said raising kinda suspiciously, they never heard of a monster who would kill with deers antlers, maybe a wendigo but they wouldn’t use their antlers, and would definitely not leave a body “well the victim was missing organs, heart and lungs to be specific” sam said now confused as well, either this was some new monster they didn’t hunt yet, or just some psycho cannibal either way, they pack things and just prepare for their road trip. “I’ll call cas and tell him where we’re going” Sam said as Dean nodded and just went to finish packing their weapons.
Sure they were ready but he just needed to seem like he’s doing something. He heard his brother talking to the angel on the phone and hoped the angel would join them, of course they shouldn’t leave him behind. He’s a friend, a family and Dean would rather take him everywhere, with him than leave him behind, not that he would ever say it out loud. After getting everything ready and Sam talking to Cas they went to the impala. “Cas said he will join us on the hunt” Sam said sitting in the front seat.
Of course Dean knew he would, he always does their little guardian angel is always with them, his guardian angel is always with them. And so they went, Dean starting the car and putting on the radio of his 70’s rock mix tape. Sam is probably getting more and more tired of listening to the same albums over and over and over again, but it makes Dean feel more at ease, so he lets him. He always does. And so they go for a road trip as they’d call it, to Maryland, Baltimore.
