Chapter Text
Stealing the hard drive twenty minutes ago was easy enough, but trying to sneak out of the camp without being noticed was another case because there were guards all over the place looking for the hard drive.
Nicky: "That is it. I am getting us a ride out of here in one way or another, because I would rather be span..."
Nicky took a look at Nile, who did not want to hear the rest of that sentence, while Joe smirked.
Nicky: "Just stay put and wait for my signal."
Before Nile could stop Nicky, he was gone.
Nile: "Why the hell did you not stop him?"
Joe: "Because I agree with him, and I can't do the thing he is thinking about if we stay here."
Nile groaned and found her binoculars so she could search for Nicky amongst the guards and other people.
Nile: "Whatever you two got planned, leave me out of it."
While Nile searched for Nicky, Joe thought a bit about the plans he had with Nicky, while he at the same time also kept an eye out. About six minutes later, Nile groaned.
Joe: "Something wrong?"
Nile: "You can say that. The guards have captured Nicky, and now we have to rescue him."
Nile held a finger up.
Nile: "And no, I don't want to hear what you were just thinking about. I need to sleep at night."
Joe giggled.
Joe: "Could I have the binoculars?"
Nile handed Joe the binoculars.
Joe: "Which way did they take Nicky?"
Nile: "To your left. Towards the small shed."
It did not take long before Joe found what Nile had seen.
Joe: "That is not Nicky you saw."
Nile: "Yes, it was. The guards are dragging an unconscious Nicky towards that building next to the watch tower."
Joe: "You are right about that someone is unconscious, but it is not Nicky."
Nile: "Yes, it is. Nicky is the only one wearing a hoodie around here."
Joe: "Nicky was wearing a hoodie, but not anymore because the unconscious man is wearing it right now."
Nile: "How the hell can you be sure it is not Nicky who the guards have captured?"
Joe: "Because of the ass."
Nile: "Sorry, what?"
Joe: "I have been a big admirer of Nicky's ass for the last 1100 years, and therefore I can recognise Nicky's ass anywhere, even in a dark room."
Nile: "Let me get this straight. You are saying because you looked at an ass, you are sure Nicky is not the one they have captured?"
Joe nodded.
Joe: "And if you want to know it, I have found Nicky and let us just say that the trousers he is wearing right now are not doing his ass any justice."
Nile punched Joe on his shoulder.
Nile: "Stop talking about Nicky's ass, and tell me where he is?"
Joe: "Oh, you will see in a moment. Be ready to run."
Joe watched Nicky get into a black 1969 Chevy Camaro, and it made Joe smile.
Nile: "Why are you smiling like that?"
Joe: "Oh, just because my man is hopeless when it comes to his taste in clothes, but not when it comes to his taste in cars."
Nile: "Please tell me..."
Nile took the binoculars from Joe.
Nile: "That Nicky has stolen the only car that will attract attention."
Joe: "Okay, I won't say that, but if Nicky has stolen the only car that will attract attention when he starts the engine, it will attract everyone's attention, which will give us the chance to get out of here because most of the people will be looking at him."
Nile: "Fine, I admit it. It's a good plan."
Seconds later, Nicky got the black 1969 Chevy Camaro going, and as predicted, most people looked at the car. And just as Nicky took a corner, guards came running out from the shed together with the once-unconscious man.
Nile: "And I think it's now that we run for the hills."
Joe: "Based on what?"
Nile: "With the hills, I meant it was the signal Nicky talked about."
Joe: "I got that, but why now?"
Nile: "Because if I had to guess what Nicky did, I would say that he knocked out the owner of the car he is driving in, and the owner is currently trying to prevent everyone from shooting at the car."
Joe looked around the corner.
Joe: "And you're right. Come."
Nile followed Joe, and on their way out of the camp, they only met one guard, whom Nile delved with. An hour later, Joe and Nile found Nicky sitting on the hood of a black 1969 Chevy Camaro in a parking lot.
Nicky: "I got us cheeseburgers."
Nile: "Fantastic. I'm starving."
Joe: "So am I, but for something else."
Nile punched Joe on his shoulder.
Nile: "Stop it, or else I'm going on a shopping spree, and you'll pay for it all. And also drag all of my purchases home for me."
Joe: "A shopping spree is not a bad idea, because you need better clothes than what you are wearing right now."
Nicky licked his fingers free from ketchup.
Nicky: "Oh, you're talking about what I'm wearing right now. Instead of spending money on clothes, why don't you get..."
Nile punched Nicky on the shoulder.
Nile: "If you finish that sentence, I'll forget to be nice to you."
Nicky chuckled.
Nicky: "Are we talking like when Andy forgot to be nice to me in Granada or when you forgot to be nice to me in Vienna?"
Nile: "You'll see that when it happens."
They all laughed.
Nile: "Okay, back to business at hand. We need to get the hard drive to Copley, but before we do that, we need to get rid of the car, because it's an invitation for trouble."
Nicky: "You don't need to worry about the car. I spoke with an old friend of Joe's, who is more than happy to give us 55,000 dollars for the Camaro. In an hour, the car is no longer our problem."
Nile: "Sounds good."
Nicky: "And we will split the money with you. See it as our way of saying sorry for all the teasing today."
Nile: "Thanks."
Nicky got off the black 1969 Chevy Camaro's hood and threw the car keys to Nile.
Joe: "I don't have anything against you as a driver, Nile, but why does she get to drive the nice car?"
Nicky whispered something to Joe, who smiled.
Nicky: "Are we good?"
Joe: "We are more than good. Nile, get the car going, I got places to be."
