    “It’s okay,” he says. Despite his brave face, the shake in his voice betrays his fear; his small shoulders, hunched over in anticipation, tense, and Touya can read the lines of uncertainty in his body. “It’s okay,” he repeats, curling his hand around Touya’s thumb more tightly. “Becuase nii-san is here, and nii-san is my super strong hero.”

    Touya’s breath catches in his throat.

    Shouto looks up, and his eyes— half Touya’s, half Oka-san’s, wholly genuine— meet Touya’s. “So can we go explore?”
