“What, are you a doctor?”
At that, his body language stiffens and he gives you a tense smile.
“No way. You can’t be a doctor.”
“Can't I? And, I'm not *that* kind of doctor.”
“But you’re a doctor?” you ask, emphasis on the “a”.
“Possibly.” He answers, the conversation making him uncomfortable. He doesn’t want you to find out anything about him.
“Does it matter either way?”
“You're a doctor and you’re kidnapping people. I think that matters.”
“Not ‘people’... just one” He shrugs.
You roll your eyes. “Same difference.”
“Would it matter any less if I wasn't a doctor?” he asks, one eyebrow raised.
