   Summary

   March 1968, Leslie Baker, known as Lee to his friends, meets Eli Taylor in passing for the first time. He says nothing to the Kentuckian, not even a greeting. It goes nowhere, it means nothing as he takes Kendrick's arm and walks away.
   Everything changes a few months later, when Kendrick's platoon disappears without a trace—Lee and Eli are brought into close quarters that neither of them entirely know how to navigate.
   It's not nothing anymore.
