Summary
With the distance between them shrinking, Mike panicked. He should've thought the idea through before running his mouth and suggesting it but the thought of Will letting anyone else do this for him, let alone Lucas, made that hot, ugly feeling nip at Mike's insides again.
Before their lips could touch, Mike turned Will's head to the side and let the kiss land on his cheek instead. A beat. Another beat. Will turned his head back to look at Mike but he couldn't meet Will's eyes. He looked at Will's forehead, at his nose, anywhere besides his eyes. His heart was racing and Will's gaze wasn't doing it any favors.
"C-Cheek kiss," he said, as if that explained anything, "That's one of the types of kisses."
It's the summer after their high school graduation and Will still hasn't had his first kiss yet. Mike offers to teach him all the different kinds of kisses there are. You know, like a best friend would.
