Wooing Morgan Gillory

Summary:

Finally admitting his love for Morgan to himself, Adam sets out to romance her in hopes she could love him too.

Notes:

My goal is eventually having smut and the rating will change to E when that happens. For now I’m just working on building their romance.

Chapter Text

The thing about Morgan, Adam thinks as he ponders over his new understanding of his love for her, is that while she might be bold and seemingly willing to disregard any personal boundaries, she’s also scared. He knows how she feels incapable of making a relationship work. That she feels as though she holds the blame for her old romances not working out, even though she tries to act nonchalant when talking about it.

So Adam has to approach this cautiously. He can’t just pull her aside and tell her he’s in love with her. He’s going to need a plan.

He can do this. He’s a great planner. He just needs to sit down and make a list of how he’s going to approach this. Each step needs to be carefully thought through and executed in order to woo her the way she deserves. Because she deserves the absolute best he has to give.

He pulls up the notes app on his tablet, since Morgan would never have a reason to be on his home tablet, and starts a new note.

Steps for Wooing Morgan
- Spend more time with her and the kids outside of work.
- Feed her more often. Invite her over and cook dinner for her. She likes Ruebens. REMEMBER THE PICKLES NEXT TIME!
- You already casually touch each other but find ways to be gentlemanly and romantic. (If you try to hug her too early she will figure it out and freak out before you can show her how you feel!)
- Make her laugh. She loves banter and I think she enjoys me being her straight man. Try small sarcastic jokes.
- Compliment her. For more than just her looks! Reassure her that she’s smart, kind, caring, a great mom, etc.
- Hold the car door open for her. Try to find new ways to be a gentleman for her.
- Try to initiate conversation outside of work talk. Tell her small personal stories that I think of in every day conversation.
- Buy her flowers??? (Not too soon. Build up to this. Maybe after two or three months of subtle gestures??)
- Write her small notes???
- Find things she might like. Restaurants, shows, activities that don’t require patience or quiet, and things we can learn to do together.
- Break out the good cologne occasionally. Wear the blue shirt she likes.
- Ask Ava for help buying her a new dress/shoes/outfit she might like for a date or for small presents.

He leaves his list at that for the time being, in hopes he can add on other things as they come to him. Something about making plans and lists makes Adam feel more settled in his skin. Like he’s got a chance of actually making Morgan fall for him too.

He decides to focus on one or two things on the list per week and see how things go. He’s still nervous at the prospect of actually wooing Morgan, but now that he knows he’s in love with her, he can’t hold back. Maybe, just maybe, Morgan might fall in love with him in return.
