Annabeth seemed to be the only one who noticed Percy's sudden style change. Or, if anyone else noticed, they didn't seem to think anything of it.
But she couldn't help but wonder why the hell he was wearing a hoodie in the middle of summer.
It all came to a head when she walked into the Poseidon cabin without warning, and that's when she saw it.
His arms were exposed as he was getting changed for the night, revealing the countless scars littering them. Some of them seemed recent, too, just having barely scabbed over.
The two campers stared at each other for a moment, Percy too scared and embarrassed to say anything, and Annabeth just... Sad.
"Why?" she asked softly. He shrugged. She sighed and walked over to him, sitting next to him on the bed and gently looking over his injuries.
"I'm sorry" he apologized, feeling guilty for worrying her. He didn't want her to know.
"None of that" she shook her head, then leaned down and kissed some of the more healed marks. "I just wish you would've told me. I don't like that you've been dealing with this alone"
"I don't know how to stop" he admitted. "It's addictive"
"I'm here for you" the blonde said softly. She didn't know how to fix it. She wasn't even sure she could fix it. But she'd be damned if she wasn't at least there for the man. Percy smiled slightly.
"I love you"
"I love you too, Percy"
